  1. I personally didnt think it was to save the club but to show solidarity with it.To show prospective buyers what they were getting.I found it sad that there were more people who found it in them to march against the chairman than actually go to try and save the club. The Saintsaid funday was only £5 and you got a lot of entertainment for that.
  2. SOME of the fans Jason
  3. the 5000 stayaways cost the club some time by starving it of revenue. MW decided things had got so bad under the board at the time HE decided to bring back RL. His mistake of ridding us of NP was the ultimate error added to the fact he kept with Jan too long. I think in the main the fanbase understood we had to get the club back in line financially but to come back and get rid of the man who the fans were behind was massive in the long run. RL will have a long time to rue that decision.Once it was done a lot of fans shrugged their shoulders and got on and supporte the young team, it was only when we couldnt win at home did the patience wear and the writing was on the wall. I hope the 5000 will return but I doubt they will until we get Pl football at L1 pricing.
  4. so do you think 800k is going to buy Beckford as a replacement? The trouble is with us the grass is always greener on the other side.
  5. but it shouldnt have mattered, even if it was charity dung collecting the fans I would have thought gone and done something. It was pitiful and embarrassing to see such low numbers turn out. I think we all were complacent that there would be a buyer and so didn't bother.
  6. I suppose you spend hours chatting to Peter in Cobwebs in Northam road
  7. My concern is that he is close to death and literally wants to go out with a bang.
  8. i could score whoever i was playing for, just a shame i was missed. It did nt help that my father encouraged me into playing other sports in my formative years, a schoolmaster when i was 10 or 11 who was something to do with Southampton schools in those days told me I would play for saints.Lol
  9. I think people have fairly pointed out that Coc of Swindon and Lambert of BR are having higher fees asked of them.DMG is proven to have the ability to score in the CCC at the age of 21. As for missing pens, when we got the penalty against Cardiff where were Saga and and the older players?? They couldnt wait to hand the responsiblity to someone else. Missing a penalty dos not make you a bad player, some are natural penalty takers like MLT but there have been many great players who would never step up.
  10. do the emotions not show on your computer, did you not see the big smiley thing I put up then? I have never tried to compare player against player, you could never compare MLT with anyone as he is a 1 off. DMG is DMG. Wil he go on and become a great, no i doubt it will he go on and become a good well respected player Yes i believe he will.
  11. There you go, just shows how hypocritical fans are.!!!!!
  12. it is not a case of being cool. We have as a club been criticised for selling our talent, if the new owners do allow this does it mean we can expect more of the same? This is not a criticism before everybody gets all up about it. As for DMG I wouldnt expect not to wish to go back to the CCC, so do i and so i would rather us keep a goalscorer who will become worth a lot more as time goes on
  13. how will it be good for saints.Goalscorers to replace somebody who will get at least 15 goals this season will cost more.Add to that the 20%sell on clause and it is a c### deal.
  14. Whilst having no direct control over the clubs finances being a saints fan, it gives me no pleasure seeing people out of pocket. That is just why administration and the wishing for us to go into it was immoral IMHO
  15. whilst many will be pleased i hope the club knock back the offer.Sadly I realise the club have always done deals when offered and so he will be sold.
  16. You should be taken on as a consultant for the cities development
  17. Lets hope it is only posturing by Watford so they dont have to pay a fee for him
  18. No will get 2 as always
  19. and of course never should have dropped one on Japan to end WWII......right

Verbal Im sorry that my badly worded reply made it seem that you didnt like the station, I meant you didnt like the deal. At the time of purchase we were in the PL and whether it made a small loss /profit or breakeven it was small beer.It had a lot of invisible earnings for tickets/merchandise etc. I recall it advertising games and giving out service info for the fanbase at the same time giving the impression we were a forward thinking club. It is a minor problem in the big picture if you are in the PL. Yes 200k is a lot of money but is nothing when you were paying players 20k a week. I still think if we were in the PL it was something we could have afforded and was told by one of the staff that there was only 1 person selling advertising. To me it was not only about providing match day commentary as most of the fans were at the games
  21. You just had to ruin our new found unity, LC I would just about stomach but not 1 of the others from the past please. It could effect the chance of fulscale unity IMO

yeah it was a lol, they seem to be honest and say what most would think. I still cant help but laugh everytime i think about him crossing the road with his dog
  23. I think if MLT was not at the front I would also have reservations but the great man would not do that to us.
