yep they'll have Button and the rest disqualified for daring to compete.I must add that I dont follow the sport of watching advertising bill boards driving around a track at 200mph but a staff member tells me about it.
-
sadly the last 5vyears we have performed like Enzo's team have so far this season

No I cant I did realise that when I posted. SFC do have assets that Leeds Bournemouth didnt. I think Im corect that the others did not have a freehold on land ,stadium, etc. As i said i do hope my worries are unfounded but asset stripping is a profitable business.
-
May I also point out that Bournemouth would be a much less value transaction, our will be considerably more. The costs of Morgan and whether Pulis etc were a waste will be miniscule to this. A business I know went into administration and anything sold they took a slice. Example their stock was put into an auction which the auctioneer was to charge his full fees on the hammer price the adminstrator took a 15% commission on the hammer price as well.Add to that the goods were to be sold at a fraction of cost and you might see the business came out of administration basically ruined by administration.I dont blame the administrator, they charge their fees and is all above board but it is a licence to print money. For all those who wished for administration may regret it in the long run, but if Alpine is right about the Indian Billionaire my fears may be totally unfounded.Only the next 3 weeks will tell us.

You have put what I have tried to point out very well.Thankyou. At present SFC will be looked at by highly professional people who will try and assertain its worth if it gets split into lots of little packages, the good sold off the skelton left for the 'fans' to pick up. This could rightly be called scaremongering, but I would put it as realism. Those people will have a lcearer picture to get their value from. They will not need to worry about whether they have to invest 20m on new players, but how much they can hive off until they give the club to the fans. IMO they would have the easiest and most profitable route.I dearly hope that Im not proved right, it is not important to me as it may to others on here.
-
Duncan you are a 100% correct pointing this out. Some have tried but only fans like yourself who have the ear of many will be listened too. Asset strippers will be there and waiting, they will assess thevalue to them by slicing off the good take their profit and leave the bad.It is out of the peoples hands who had respect for the club as an entity.RL or LC who both in their way had the best for the club at heart will not be there to check who takes over. The administrator will do the job professionally for the best for the creditors, not the customer.Sadly only now will the penny start to drop, you may be able to whip the fans up in a frenzy to help your friends who are trying to buy but that will not mean a thing to Mr Fry. His job will to be get the most and that may not be best for us. A very sad day that the bank decided to pull the plug on us.

Did Lowe make the biggest mistake of all without us noticing?
OldNick replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
Wrong then, wrong now. Administration is a disaster. just wait to see those bills bleeding us dry, players being sold on the cheap and if we get bought by asset strippers you can come back and tell us how good it was. -

Dont get fooled by 34 expressions of interest. You could regisiter that.Anybody dreamer could do so.The administrator will love the fees coming in as he researches each and every one. I see it as a confusion and may even put some off as they dont wish to waste money, as there is lots of competition and the club look less attractive as it will be hotly contested. -
WGS has no idea either of course.

I know what you mean but he did ok for a while with a real lack of resources. It was the home form that did him/us in.He was a mistake. -

I see what you mean, but as soon as RL was going to have anyhting to do with the club Jan was going to be appointed i suspect. It is such a fineline between an abject failure and a masterstroke. This season was only about staying up and keeping out of admin, sadly both may come to pass. -
You took replies from 2 differing posts to different posters and different lines of debate and when they were to be implimentd. So i will try and explain where I was coming from for you. We had an agreed £5m overdraft, the bank then reduced it to £4m. Therefore we cut the expenses by a £1m. If our overdraft had still been £5m we had room to manouver and with that we could have got loans in. When the period that Um was talking about we were trying to get the 6.5m overdraft down to the agreed £5m. Different times. I also do not think that if we did have the £5m level and had got down to £4m giving us some breathing space that Lowe would have spent much either.Perhaps 1 loan in, but that may have made a difference. I hope I have made myself clearer for you.

The world was shakier place in september. I doubt that the confidence and low interest rates would be there at that time. There has a been a minute improvement in confidence, the banks will loan and in september i doubt any bank would have lent to an investor in a football club. Jan did ok with the resources in an up and down period but should have been dispensed with 4-5 games earlier. To be fir had we won 2 or 3 more home games he wouldnt have been usch a disaster. I still think he was a mistake but it was a finely run thing -
My logic is too high brow for you Ginge, If we had not had the overdraft reduced we would have been able to get a loan in.I was alos answering Umps suggestion about selling players.Read the sequence and then you will understand...perhaps.
-
Ump I will accept that, but as you know not all are as understanding. If the club sold those 2 and not able to say why as other decisions then the fans would be in uproar.
-
Poortvliet Ill give you, Robertsomn was part of the Dyer part exchange which fell through, forget not he scored the winning goal in one game.Smith was pretty good last night it has been reported, Forecast Pulis I have not seen them play and so cant comment and Gasmi looks not ready,, but they were peanuts and would not make any difference either way.In fact Pulis was a makeweight in the Andrew Davies deal and so that was good business.

You are wrong about the Radio station. That made much invisible earnings that cant be quantified. Having the clubs propaganda/news/PR being broadcast over the south of England was superb. If Pompey were the first to do it and we had Southampton violated by their radio waves we'd be up in arms. We could well afford it at the time and it was a long term investment. Nothing wrong with showing confidence in our future.Another medium to sell match tickets merchandise and feel part of a successful club , all part of the package. I would like you to stand up to WGS's and Souness's face and tell them that they let RL dictate and i will call the ambulance. I doubt they would like their integrity or standing questioned

Barclays: "Significantly increase attendances" AND "sell players"
OldNick replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
WAS a Saints fan, i think Lowe said he was there until 2008. Nobody has picked it up yet and surprised the anti's haven't when he spoke about the Barclays man being a fan he said 'that is the problem having a fan run the club' ,he seemed to falter slightly as he realised he had left an open goal..he has been a fan for the last 12 years.Lol but I now what he meant as that fan who allows his heart to rule his head. -

I have mentioned that elsewhere Jonah, but to have peace, the fans (not me by the way) would like acceptance of his part.To bundle it together just looks like deflection. His assessment after his removal is fair and correct. Some of the anti Lowe people on here have softened their stance slightly and perhaps also accepting that now it is coming into the open the disservice other people have done to the club. -

feling generous today Jonah...only kidding Draino but I wonder in 3 weeks time if those buyers dont stump up waht your thoughts will be then. You could go and express interest the whole of the memebers of Pompey online could do so, it means nothing except every enquiry is a cost to the club that the Administrator will be delighted to chage for. -
Um we were already desperately looking to cut the xpenditure where we could, how then would you say we could easily get money? All of a sudden selling our young players has become ok has it? You rightly in the past have said that as we had such a poor quality team fans do not turn up due to that. How would you defend the decision to have sold another raft of players in the jan window? Again we would not have been told the sensitive information why the club had done so and we would be on meltdown. The crowds would have dropped further. I was disappointed that Lowe did not mention the relegation being part of the problem and grudgingly said that all the boards had a little blame. When fans eventually meet in the middle ground and fully accept that ALL the past incumbents have let us fans down and it was not all down to Lowes tenure Im sure we will all get on building the club again. All gone is the only way.
-
If Barclays had not called the overdraft in we may have got a loan that could make the difference.Just 1 goal scored or goal stopped might make the difference. You have had us relegated rfor months and will come bakc with the told you so quotes. It is far from over and whilst it is now close to being the truth we still have fight unlike some fans.

OldNick replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
His assessment after 2006 was fair, his refusal not to mention the cost of relegation leaves him open to accusation of trying to gloss it over. As i have constantly stated he is not the only one to blame but his reluctance to accept that he'd played a part is very disappointing. -
and where are all Samuels articles regarding his beloved WHU docking of points and relegation for playing Tevez????? If fans think that by finding a loophole that may save us just because Lowe did it amaze me.Lowe got it right in his interview on Sky, whatever he does is criticised. If the loophole does save us from a deduction then the PLC did have its positives.
