I dont think there is anybody that associates itself with the club who cannot take a small part of the blame.I myself would accept that by being vocally against Hoddle has been a cause(not that i regret it much) staying away cost the club revenue, bad managerial appointments again a major cost, the players too weak minded to allow 2 goal leads slip, getting sent off in 6 pointer games, not taking the ball to the corner flag were gain major issues. Not spending a lot on 1 player insead of a lot on many average players, keeping managers in their job too long, not moving from the Dell earlier, moving from the Dell, getting rid of Lowe ,reappointing Lowe. all those things have been instramental not just one person.
-
I would wait for the outcome of today before you start the told you so stuff Stanley. If you were part of the 'anyonebut Lowe' brigade you have much to think about as well.
-
When Man u scored there were only fans in their section celebrating, some in corporate and a few in the directors box. Therefore it is safe to say that 85% of the ground were Saints fans. If they turned up every game we would not have the problems we have now, but at the same time they are not not turning up due to Lowe but due to the glamour of the opponents. Also you could only get tcketsw if you were a S?T holder memeber and on the customer base.

Sadly it is easy to pigeon hole people without knowing them.I was always wary of Lowe from the beginning.I was pleased when he did good things and angry when he did bad.I v=belieeve he has taken the sh#### end of the stick and will forever be blamed by a percentage of fans who are unable to grasp that he is only a part of our demise. All the others who have sucked the club dry are getting away scott free and fans are too easily led to blame RL. RL should go buit so should all the rest.I have been consistant with this, and it would gall me to see the back of them only for another who has overseen the disaster sitting waving to the fans.

i gave no encouraement for his retiurn but also i didnt give any for Wilde's bunch either.Had he not been fawned upon and taken power the club may well be in a different place now.Nobody can say whether for better or worse.I myself think that we needed rid of Lowe but not for anyone, and at that time there were more people looking 5to buy into football clubs, we got some bags of wind.Where is Mr Trant?
-
Please answer again and dont say there were more Man u fans than saints fans on the day as that is patently untrue. As for the name titles it doesnt matter to me as i watch the football and the players are the ones with the names on the back and so it doesnt matter so much to me.

Ginge, but it is not 1 man, that is what drives me to respond time and again. When will you see that not only Lowe is at fault. i put Askham higher, he was the man with the power that brought Lowe to the club in the first place, he had already overseen the trampling of the fans with Branfoot. He has been in the frame for 20years. RL is part of the cause, Prutton,Crouch, Claus and that team of lily livered so called professional footballers are another reason, the list goes on and on.
-
Ginge please explain the attendance for the FA cup game with Man u. Lowe was the ceo but we got a full house. To me it proves that the majority of fans go to see the top sides and games that may turn out to be train crashes, the rest they can't be bothered with. To fans like you and me and many on here it is not something we can understand but generally that is the case.
-
Corky, i think you have put up a good reason and can see that, but on the other hand by starving the club of finance is a self fullfilling prophacy. You are proved right that he is no good as you have not given funds to allow the club to function.Personally i dont agree that there are enough fans staying away due to Lowe that would make that much difference. If we go down many will not come back anyway as they will say they are not paying to watch L1 or pub football even though Lowe is not there.Unless we get a bi5t of success the gates will stay as they are.
-
I agree with your post until you put the Ashley thing, he has put in about 90m and I doubt the fans would turn on a man who did that.We are a fanbase who will be happy with small mercies but we even havent had those from any of our boards for decades.

NC, you are flogging a dead horse. i wish you had been here all along and tried to reason.I and others have tried that route but you only get back that you are a Lowe Luvvie and many were hoping that it comes to this so they could return. I found it noticable that when the fans returned the atmposphere at a lot of games was worse as they were the ones most likely to lose patience quicker and get on players backs. JS is a supporter and has given reasons why he wouldnt return, but i could never understand them.Saints are saints to me and in the moment of need i dont think I could abandon them, saying that when GH was due to return I was prepared to do so then and so i can understand to a small degree his feelings. If we go down i still can see RL someway involved, and so this fighting will go on and on, that is as depressing as administration IMO

What makes NP such a messiah. Look back at his results with the squad he had at his disposal and they are hardly aweinspiring.Yes id rather we kept him but there is no assurance he would have done any better under the restrictions that would have been placed on him.Yes he has done well at leicester but it was in the papers last week MM has bankrolled them to the tune of nearly 10m amnd that is on the back of large gates. A squad that was already filled with quality players.Yes Ump has put up posts with the youngsters on but 1 is a man u reserve and so the actual loan fee would be out of our league i would suggest. The CEO has to act as the club is there and now, when the Wilde bunch took over they knew that the parachute payments were going to run out, they should have made the right decisions, LC had the same restrictions and should have made decisive cuts under his tenure as well.Administration bankrupcy was always going to be on the cards when we went down if we didnt regain PL status quickly, we had the costs of 27years of being a PL club and all that went with it.It is hard to cut6 them and now it seems the only way is this sad route. RL and all the people on the board are at fault, i dont see why there can be exceptions. Keeping Jan for 5 games too long was a disaster but that still can be rectified going into administration cant as far as i can see.

I'll apologise for him if you impart with some more info. If it fails to be correct then so be it.Today is a time when fans need to be open with other fans as we ALL are living with the current concerns. You may have been eased by news or more depressed but ast least you know something. Dont leave the rest on a string just because you feel slighted.

Ginge i always enjoy your responces. im sure we'd have a good laugh if we ever met. i can see the wood from the trees, i havent seen if there has been an outcome of todays meeting. i would wait and see. I believe it is too easy just to blame Lowe, there are many others in the sad tale.

I dont know what goes into those accounts. They cannot be completely up to date for 30th of June say as the accounts must take weeks to prepare. We were losing tens of thousands a week and so whoever was going to be in charge then massive cuts were to be made. To have any money to spend we had to offload the high earners as best we could. Results would only bring the fans in, I cannot believe that RL kept more than a a thousnad if not hundreds away. Manchester Utd in the cup we had a full house , RL was chairman. Good results would bring the crowds back i agree, but slashing the star players which was needed to happen would weaken the team. NP has done well at Leiceter, I read with interest on saturday that MM has bankrolled Leicester for nearly 10m this season. They have been getting large crowds as well. it proves he can work well in L1 without financial constraints, until he is in the CCC and facing a crisis will we really see if he can cut the mustard. To me his success has added to the fans anger, had he gone to Leicester and failed there would not be a peep about him.Of course it could show he is a great manager, but I can't help but look to his record here and it was far from impressive with RW ,Stern and many other high wage players.

I think we rent Staplewood
-
the so called Lowe supporters as I would be counted as i suspect have nothing to be sad about in doing so.I still believe that what he did stopped us from this even earlier and we still have not assertained what state the club was in when he took back the reins. This situation can be traced back to many other things that we have argued about for years. i will await for the results of this latest saga before getting too down.
-
Jones gold tooth has gone then
-
I think it wouldnt have disappeared and whoever took over would I expect honour monies already been paid.Obviously people in the main would have paid by credit card and safe, but it still would be hassle and something that has thankfully been avoided.
-
That is credit to the club, whatever people may think of it.
-
If Wotte keeps us up it would be a poor decision to sack him, apart from that go saints
-
Sadly it is not an april fools joke, but I feel strangely confident that something positive will come from it.if we avoid the 10 points then that will be plus. One thing I believe is that we have fantastic fans, together and as a people we will unite behind the team and it could be hell of an atmosphere saturday. Just a fantasy but it would be great if the ground is nearly full and we can show the world what Southampton people and fans are really made of right until the end of the season.
-
April fools day and this news comes out.It just underlines that you have to be a fool to be a saints fan

I have to leave that to people who know more aqbout these things, but my gut feeling is that it would be illegal to hive off assets like that.
