  1. But even those dont have the same feeling as watching the Big Match on a sunday afternoon 20 years ago.No doubt the football was slower but it had an edge that modern football has lost. There are a number of things that have made it so boring, wall to wall football on tv has contributed.Seeing players earn 50k a week and they cant pass a ball more than 3 yards, their demi godstatus and losing connection with the fans. The pitches being like bowling greens have made it quicker but those games on muddy pitches had a different feel to them. All seater stadia also has dulled the feel of a game, and of course time has blunted the enthusiasm.
  2. The laws/ regulations of the leagues dont count then. You design stadiums and then cant play in the leagues when they are built then as they contravein the rules Lol. Even an architect would know that if you don't adhere to the rules you wont be able to use the facility. I would expect you would use the regulations before drwing up any plans or do you just steamroller through and not worry about such things? You also didn't answer the question regarding it being more cost effective to keep the stadium running in one rather than seperate stands. Also the local planners would have their say in the health and safety issue regarding ground evacuation. You are the architech and so would be able to access the rules/regulations for SMS easier than myself as i wouldn't know where to look. You will also be able then to show me where the club lied to fools like me.
  3. the latter end I would suggest and perhaps a lot more. A company Iknow had his stock put into auction and not only did he have to pay the auctions full charges but the administrator put on 15% as well!
  4. Yep Chewton Glens champagne is very dear, all reclaimable as well against any company the administrator is overseeing.
  5. Duncan knows a lot of people at the club there is no doubt of that, but it doesnt mean that the info he has been supplied with is correct. I know that the info that the IR have been paid up would be correct.
  6. i dont agree but only a few people would know for certain
  7. could have but what a nightmare or accounting. The vat etc and costs of reinbursement would be quite high. Also if the club felt there was a chance of us going into admin it would be a poor thing to do.For all the things that are pointed at them i dont think they intentionally go out to upset the fans.
  8. but the only way they would sell at present is at rock bottom prices. If we manage to stay up the extra income will be 10-20% in what the club can charge. Perhaps the lack of a loan signing may be due to us not being able to raise the money.
  9. Of course i was lying StM, it stands to reason doesnt it? Lol
  10. there isnt a massive drop in the share price 0.75p (although 5%) and so no real panic selling at present
  11. I was told we were fully paid up with the IR. That doesnt mean we would not go into administration, in fact it would be best case if were paid up with them (if the horrible eventuality happened) as it is easier to get out of administration if they are not involved.
  12. I think he should keep to football. I always thought he was part pikey, and now you can see what part
  13. Im sorry if the word undermine is annoying to you, but that is how I see it. As for your comment about a little forum means nothing I dont fully agree with that. I suggest that the people on here are known to other fans who then strike up conversations. As we are all fully committed enough to chat about Saints we are some of the more vocal fans. Opinions can be made by reading listening to what is said. Um and Duncan, Daren Wheeler have a great deal of weight in what they say compared to me who is an unknown. If we are so important why was the site used by PR people when the Wilde bunch came on the scene and MW actually used the site. At present we are in a crucial stage of the clubs health. The main protagonists on the board have thankfully shut up and the club is moving together as 1 in an uneasy alliance. Wotte had a difficult job with the fans in the first place as he was RL's appointment and also his criticism of the marchers. He is slowly and grudgingly getting a little respect and so we dont need the little bit of that lost by showing up and perhaps undermining the little confidence he has gained. Every little negative can hurt the club. Im happy to hold fire and see if we stay up before pointing fingers. I myself think that whatever happens now Wotte should be given a run at the job, as for RL well that is a different ball game.
  14. I cant see us having a stable club until ALL the board members have departed. There will always be axes to grind with 1 or other of them whoever is at the top. Me for example will not be able to stomach Askham and co eating from the trough even if RL goes. I would just about accept Cowen and Richards (mainly as I thought his letter to the fans when MW first arrived was very good) The rest who have been there for generations need to be gone as well.
  15. UMp Im glad you pointed that out.I know you have a passion for saints as much if not greater than mine and was surprised that you would try and undermine the club by getting fans to lose the little faith they still have. I have to hold my hand up and think you were trying to do so , and admit i was wrong after that post.
  16. What would be more apt is that it is good we have not got your defeatist we are relegated already stuff. We lost to SU and the point would look bloody nice on our total at present. As for harping back to last season , that was a REAL must win game and even if we did we were not guarenteed safety. This time last season your hero had just overseen a 5-0 drubbing away to Hull before a 0-0 draw at home to Coventry in a 'must win' game. Fans have been saying they are must wins from about 16 games to go! Yes we do have to win some games, but we have stopped losing and started to stop leaking goals.Where before we needed to score 3 to win we now need 1 or 2 much like the run in last year.
  17. I sometimes can't work out if fans want us to fail just to prove a point. Wotte has done better than a lot of our previous managers, if he keeps us up he will have done better than most with a much wealer squad. I would suggest we sharpen the knifes IF we go down and not keep trying to undermine the team now.
  18. More important was te point lost against Sheff utd. The manager went for 3 points instread of consolidating and taking 1. that could be vital.
  19. Lol. Did RL step down before the Man u game and then come back the game after.Your deluding yourself Robbie, if we got to the PL you couldnt get a ticket.
  20. Appendix 1 (Membership Criteria) of The Football League’s regulations makes reference to the subject addressed in your email: 23.2 The shortest distance between touch-line and perimeter barrier to be ideally 2.75 metres, but no less than 2.25 metres. 23.3 The shortest distance between goal line and perimeter barrier to be ideally 2.75 metres, but no less than 2.25 metres. Thank you for contacting The Football League. As an architect what would you say if the league put these restrictions on you? As of course you knew these regulations and would not be foolish like some to believe the clubs answer. I dont know how far the perimeter fencing is from the pitch. From the Northam i suspect they are about the 2.75 m from the pitch although the hoardings do take up quite a bit of space. On a cost basis it would always be best that the stands linked and continuous, or is that wrong? I myself would wish that the fans were closer to the pitch aka the Dell but if it is against the rules/law then you have to go with it.
  21. I e-mailed the football league regarding their rules and got this reply. As for the local planners I do not know their rules.
  22. A multi millionaire owner who does not splash the cash above the clubs budget.
  23. Wes why is it going to be a miricle if we stay up.Are you saying that if we were 4 points clear we would be safe? Some were saying we were down with 14 games to go, others had been saying we would be down at christmas and that we would have the lowest points total ever.Yes it is difficult but not a miracle needed to survive.
