I think it is very sad how disrespectful some are to McCarthy. One season some incredible saves gained us points where we stayed up. Making him player of the season. Yes he's rubbish at distribution but when he came all the fancy Dan football at the back was not the current fashion. Time has moved on and he does not fit in the current set up, but please give him some respect. we destroy all our keepers. McCarthy and Davis both players of the season over the years and got continually panned. I dont get the modern goalkeeper / defender how he has to be able to have ball skills rather than defend and allow the midfield and attackers to do the creative stuff.
