Daily Echo - LALLANA Fulham bid rejected...SPURS INTEREST TOO
OldNick replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
It is laughable that RL sells the players he gets stick , he turns down offers and he still gets stick. There is no reason why the club couldnt of taken 300k for him and had a healthy sell on clause if we wished to get some money in.No the club turned an offer down as they think he is required. Why do we alwayus put negatives into something that shoukld be seen as positive? The club is in the financial mire but still turned down the chance to sell.Well done Saints -
That is fair.I am sure you have high morals and this is not aimed at you Greenridge or any other poster here but would the uproar of his being aquitted been quite so rabid if it was Lallana,or Morgan or any other real hero on here. I myself recall when Moran and Wright were accused of rape in Sweden I was preying they would get off as they were heroes and important to our team. That as Im older I see as being thoughtless, BWP is not popular and so many are prepared to throw him to the wolves because they think he is crap. Forget not he's an asset of our club and reflects on the financial health. The people we trust to run our justice have decided he's innocent

Jan, how long has he got? (not looking for an arguement)
OldNick replied to Thorpe-le-Saint's topic in The Saints
I believe that he will be given a long spell by RL as the club has no money to spend on players if a new manager came in. We have taken this route and have to see what evolves. As for the fans? Many will stay patient and the normal suspects will get their knicke## in a twist and start calling for his head. -
That is a fair assessment. Both chances should be put away and in the Blackpool game whoever took the llead was likely to win. The miss against Brum was an easier chance and a 2 goal lead would have given us the points/point.

its awful Id rather eat a dead uncooked fish
-
yep and now Man c are going to compete with Chelski, it will add to player wage and fee inflation. I doubt that the powers at Uefa are happy at the PL's strength.
-
forming a break away league would be great for some of the bigger clubs cut adrift of the big 4. It would need Sky to be very much behind it for it to have any chance.Whether it would have a pull without the big 4 that the tv companies adore is another thing. A competitive league with clubs with large fanbases would be quite exciting.Of course only if we were invited.

A pathetic jibe ehh. Just a statement of fact something you never deal in.
-
you must have a dull life if a pessimist brightens your day.Whatever rocks your boat I suppose. Who is Saint Charlie, I missed that bit?
-
I do St L. but it was also on eletext.I am friends with one of the directors but he never divulges anything.Although if I pressed him he might.
-
Why Am I a mind reader? The impression your thread gave was that it was his expression as he was taken off. As I didn't watch tv and you hadn't mentioned 'on the highlights' how was I to know that it was from tv highlights. As I know you attend games I thought that is where you meant. As for being a d### that may be true but I can live with that. How's the strap on?
-
Oh I see, I didnt as I was at SMS
-
yep in the know, and it was on teletext last night.
-
well as he was taken off at half time, and it was done in the changing rooms how were we to see his face?
-
keegan is always likely to have a hissy fit.He did so when he left here all because he fell out with LM. When LM question the teams effort he took umbridge and that was his lot and he went to Newcastle, not before going to the press and telling us to buy s'ts as he was staying.

Well i want to campaign for the subscription to go up. If it keeps that person away it is worth more to me. No doubt bing on zero points up until saturday also had a bearing. It always disappeared when the chips were down.
-
I can see why they have been chosen .but also KD and Gillette could also have been in the group.
-
I think GP and RL have good relationship. GP resigned when RL was to be ousted and commented he thought RL was unfairly treated. I think GP is a great judge of a player and we will do well by taking heed of his recommendations
-
I dont know why, but I don't know much about their dealings.
-
Not for me. That person and Alpine are from the same stable and would never be surprised if they were 1 and the same person

Perhaps some are happy for others to lose money on a football club, but stay away and not pay into the pot themselves, but then feel free to criticise those that do. LC is likely to be the biggest victim and although I am very critical in his involvment I do find he has been the biggest fall(fool) guy in all of this. It is unfortunate but perhaps vanity got in the way of good financial sense.
-
Has anyone else factored in the fact that a major shareholder paid 60p+ for his stake and may not wish to take less than half back? It is always seen as RL as not willing to sell where surely LC would not be too keen to lose so much.I dont know if he is all systems go to do so but it would gall him to lose a million or so easily.
-
Doesn't the market decide a stocks value? OK the major players can hold off for a big price but there is no general trading of shares and so until there is a seller it is hard to assess what the value really is. If one of the bigger holders decided to cash in you may then see a drop in price because I doubt there is a fund manager who would wish to pay 30 p at present and so the offer would be much lower for a large stake.
-
That could be right.I suspect there would be many takers but we signed them on too high wages and others are not so foolish, especially at present market conditions. Ipswich were still after Rudi and JE is being courted by Sheff Utd.
-
The thing is they overspent to give themselves an advantage over their rivals who were prudent.Rightly so they deserve to be punished if they then cant pay back. We have done the same and are taking the medicine to try and get us back on track. I would have more sympathy with Luton who to me seem to have been crucified.
