  1. I can. we were having this party and I wanted something posh for people to put their drinks on........... Oh, Sorry. I thought you said 'Doilie'
  2. we're the disenfranchised, we're the disenfranchised, we're the disenfranchised over here!!!!!!
  3. Phil. look out of your window. Do you see two dusky maidens and a dark skinned feller walking by? If the answer is YES then we must be in the same place.
  4. Isn't it about time Barnard scored? He's always scoring on Fifa 2010!!!!
  5. Phil, I'm in Dagenahm. Is that anywhere near you?
  6. Came through on my phone first before I got here. I was afraid to look. Still want another two to kill them off and give me bragginbg rights.
  7. That why I like you, and not the Admin Department.
  8. Well F me, this is more like it, a good debate................... Although I agree in part, I think we need to concentrate on a few games with Rickie on the Bench, I dont think we are as toothless as you say. We have a good squad on paper and time to improve. I know what you mean about two months but WHO is the big question. how do we know there weren't a number of who's who were WAY too expensive, (thanks to the agents) or turned out to be crap after being scouted, or who were being watched at the WC and failed to impress? we don't know. But we do know we still have time and losing a few wont hurt us. Hopefully it'll take some of the pressure off, and I think they need that. Today, I mostly disagree with Alpine, but do concede some points. ............................oh, and it's All Nicolas fault........................sorry, force of habit.
  9. Right, I'm going to say this just once, and if it doesn't get through I'll start another thread with it on. The most virralent of posters that come on here, and we all know who they are as they have a notoriety going back years, lets be honest, are not makiing this point and are disagreeing with the NC bashing. And me, being a logical, almost on the borders of a Valcan, look at the half glass and see it's full, slightly on the happy clappy side, but is also happy having a good moan agrees with the reckless, illogical, look at the half glass and see it's empty, suicidal depressive, who as far as I remember have always been contentious and contrary.................. Don't you all think that 11 thousand threads started by 11 people all saying NC is a git, may get the point at some stage that: a) We, the silent majority, the swinish multitude, disagree b) That on the next thread, We, the silent majority, the swinish multitude, still disagree c) that on the previous threads We, the silent majority, the swinish multitude, have always disagreed d) No matter how you change it, the title, the start, the information from inside the camp, We, the silent majority, the swinish multitude, will always disagree, because nothing you have said over a miilion times before has changed our minds, and never will. No matter how much you repeat it. Please post something new to change our minds. try a winning thought out argument for a change without resorting to name calling. We don't mind him, at the moment, you see. Us lot, the rest of the people here. We don't like some of what he's done, but we still don't mind. We just want to win the football game. that is all. And occasionally some Pompey baiting, but mostly just football. Try a different tact. Post about who you think will score the most goals before Xmas. Or if you think we should try a different formation. Post about what you would like the Southampton style to be, or if you think we should drop Ricky to the bench for a few games and learn to do without him, instead of as at the moment, being forced to do without him, before it happens again. That would be a nice subject for the Post or two.
  10. I get the updates on the phone, and I know about the BBC/Sky Sports but really wanted to at least listen. Perhap Smirkins right and I need to suscribe to Saints Player. Do you knwo if I can claim it back on exe's?
  11. I have never been in a situation that I cannot follow the saints game, at least on the radio. Can any of you outside supporters tell me if there is a way to here the commentary at least? i am in Dagenham, which is the worst place I have ever worked, I can tell you. Any help greatfully recieved.
  12. i don't know. Thought he did a cracking bit on why the American Revolution was really a British Civil War, contrary to American history and the fact they are very revisionist on the French part in it. Wasn't he offered a chair at Cambridge, but turned it down for Sandhurst as his heart is in military rather than classical history? It is a good point about why stay at Cranfield. Very strange. Maybe he is in actual fact an MK Dons fan? Nah, can't see it. Want to make up some rumours about it, miltonaggro? Still think he's a saints fan, though.
  13. Ah, ****** to them. I prefer Professor Richard Holmes. A proper military historian, better than Sharma and Starkey and, as a previous commander of the 2nd Battalion, The Wessex Regiment and Honorary Colonel of the Southampton University Officer Training Corps is probably a closet Saints fan. Don't know, only ever seen him from a distance, on TV and a big painting of him at Sandhurst, but why wouldn't he be.
  14. The Problem is that up until 1938 you would have respected the Nazi's and so would most of us. And I'll tell you why. We had no real views as to the way they were treating Jews in Germany and Austria. In the newsreels, especially around 1936 olympics, that Mr Hitler was shown as a 'very Good Leader' for Germany, and a great ambassador for sport around the world,(It'll be on YouTube somewhere, the Pathe news reel with Jesse Owens winning the gold) and only outspoken politicians,(like Winston Churchill) and certain members of the media, (Lord Beaverbrook) had any problem with him. And all this was down to Propaganda, the information people back then based their opinions on was the sanitised oft un-true version spread by Nazis, and becasue it was printed, it became fact. Charlie Chaplin, in the great Dictator, actually failed in his mission to show Hitler upto the world as a crazy dictator by making Hitler a target of Fun, (he has only one ball, you know). I don't want to give you all a History lesson but here is an often used example of positive spin, with information control at the heart of it. It's the same here. We used to have all the goings on at the club being spouted out and loads of ITKers revealing the information. Now, that information is being tightly controlled, so that there are not ITKers in the sense of the word any more. Oh, I don't doubt that people still have contacts at the club, and that they still get tit bits, but unlike before when the tit bits were close to the truth, now even those at the heart of the club can only speculate. If NC is the type of professional i believe, he closely controls what information goes out, and he knows who can be trusted, and who cant. And what do you do in business to those you don't trust?(Treat em like sh** and be really mean and sack-em i hear you cry). No, NC will do what most managers would do. Those close to you you isolate, keep in the dark, control what you tell them and starve them of attention and they either change, or they go. Those below or outside your direct control, why worry about them as they will either like the new regieme, or will leave. No need to threaten, bully or put fear into, and it means you don't break no employment laws. So, with this control of information and no one knowing anything worthwile, unlike yesteryear, this causes frustrations for ALL of us, so some form opinions on the scantist of evidence, some form opionion based on personal feeling, '...If I was Nicola, that is what I would do. '.some try and mind read and assume that NC does things with no evidence at all, then make up statements that they believe will pass as evidence: An example: (Taken From Family Guy) Lois Griffen - kids, your father has a lump and i'm worried about him. Meg Griffen - Oh, Mum. Debbie Janson's father had a lump and he was perfectly fine Lois Griffen - Whose Debbie Janson? Meg Griffen - A girl at my school that I just made up. Too much is based on nothing at all and taken as fact. Also, too much is taken as fact when you have to question the source. Example: Was the Echo Banned? No, because Nicola/The Club says so on the official web site. just because they say so, doesn't mean it's true. So, lets stop calling each others names and try and keep an open mind. Surly we can debate as adults and wise men, with out resulting to name calling and personal attacks. We all have several things in common, believe it or not, SFC being one of them. Information is a two edge sword, it cuts both ways.
  15. It's a couple of years old, and I could argue under sale of goods act about reasonable time for enjoyment, but that starts to stretch after 18 months, (i'm a bit of an anorack on the Sale Of Goods act and consumer law.)
  16. Can anyone reccomend a decent TV repair company? My Flat screen went poof after being off for a coupkle of weeks due to us redecorating the living room, and when I put it on it went on for about five minutes then a click and off. I haven't had to have a TV repaired in such a long time I don't know who to go to, and don't want to be ripped of. Any help would be greatfully recived.
  17. I do have to wonder, If the TOP 4 did this, would there be outrage in the press still or would the press continue to kiss their arses in fear of not being given access to our World Cup Stars?
  18. Sorry but look at this from his (ML) perspective - Are we in debt? No, - Are we bringing in revenue? Yes - Do we have a team that will prosper this season? Yes, BUT it could be better - Do we have plans to improve ourselves? Yes - Is there time to improve? Yes - Do we have plans to make us even more self sustainable? Yes - Does it matter if the press are unhappy? No - Is the press a main revenue stream? No - Are we looking to make them a revenue stream? Yes, not a large one. I am confessing that this latest decision by Nicola is quite bizzarre and for thei first time I don't agree with it and don't see the reasoning behind it, but as long as we aren't hemmeraging money, why should Marcus care. And I don't agree with the 'get some old board types back'. this is tantamount to Dave Cameron ringing up Gordon Brown and saying, 'Any chance you could do the budget for us?'.
  19. Got to be honest, I have been more in favour of NC lately but even this one I think is daft.
  20. Well done GM. I have to say coming from you this is a positive thing. It was a pleasurable read and a nice to know.
  21. Don't laugh. I agree with him. Now this business is over they can work towards getting back to the BLUE SQUARE Premier League. Where they belong. C*****
  22. well, you could have written this couln't you. The cheaters have prospered and I can only hope that karma punish them and they continue to suffer. Going down, with a bit of luck. I suddenly have a lot of teams to support, the whole championship minus one plus saints.
  23. Trousers, Just done you a favour. I'm working in Fords at the moment in...............Dagenham, so I just grabbed the Motor chef from his van, whose a Dagenham fan, and got him to vote for Saints. I had to buy a large Chilli Concarnie and a cheese and pickle roll, plus a crazy milk drink that I think they stopped manufacturing in the eighties, but anything for another Saints fan.
