Grew them from seed and planted them in growbags near the end of May. Picked my first 3 today and another 3 developing well. All from 2 plants. First time I have grown them. Very pleased.

I grow everything in outdoor pots and containers including grow bags because my soil is clay. Carrots & Spring Onions are doing well. Just harvested some courgettes for dinner. Plenty of Lettuces at various stages having already harvested a row. Sprouts and Cauliflowers are going well. Runner beans in flower and a few beans just beginning to develop. Tomatoes are just beginning to bear fruit but it will be a while before they ripen. In should be able to have some potatoes soon but not grown many. Just one pot this year. Growing spinnich as well although my first lot have just gone to seed after a few picks. Just planted some more to replace. Masses of Strawberries in the last few weeks. Just picked some more for afters. Surprising what you can achieve.

I do not know the identity of the Swiss bid. I do know that it is not connected to the Middle East bid mentioned previously.

Sarcasm was not what I meant!

Why Fry could make the Swiss could walk away
Weston Saint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
That it what I am being told as well. -
Just to add what I know about Drew Surman to date (as at yesterday) Before the Pinnacle exclusivity Drew was approached by the club and told he might have to be sold to cover wages. Two clubs had shown real interest being Wolves & Sheffield Utd. Drew was asked if he would speak to Sheff Utd if necessary. He has received calls from Saints since asking if he was prepared to go if necessary but then he has heard nothing since. He wants to play for Saints still but is prepared to accept the reality of needing to move on if it is in the best interest of the club. Let's hope the club future is resolved soon. As for Davis, he would love to stay and has just bought a new house here. He is settled but like a few others he is out of contract on Wednesday morning.
-
There will not be a further 'exclusivity period' available to potential purchasers due to the tight deadlines that we are working to. All contracts have now been prepared so now it is a case that the interested parties have to agree to those contracts, sign them and complete the purchase So anyone coming in are bound by Pinacles offer to the Administrator. If the other two parties interested do not agree all that all bets are off. That is my reading of the situation and one shared by others I have spoken to.

Hampshire's final group Twenty20 match vs Kent is currently due to start on time at 19:00hrs tonight at The Rose Bowl. Weather forecasts suggest that the sun is due to make its appearance around 14:00hrs today, which will give the ground ample time to dry before tonights epic clash against The Kent Spitfires under the lights at The Rose Bowl. http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/play_to_start_on_time/

Message from Tony Lynam Friday 26th June 10:11am
Weston Saint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Think we have to step back, let Mr Lynam and his team get on with their side and hope that Mr Fry continues to progress the Swiss talks with an acceptable offer by next Wednesday. Why Wednesday, well simply to give the Swiss a few days due diligence without the need for a non refundable deposit. there appears now other way acceptable -
But have they confirmed they are in Spence, or is it promise from Mr Fialka that he can raise the funds? He hardly appears to have a track record!
-
Quite honestly when someone is put forward as the money man and you can find very little about him it does start alarm bells going. Give the media a bit of time and they will no doubt turn over some stones. Is this why the "investor" did not want to go public but panic started to set in, wages were not paid and he was forced into the public domain. Will the full scrutiny of the media proving he was not what he told Pinnacle? Let's hope GM is wrong this time but I am beginning to worry he is on the button again.
-
Nope, if Fry gives someone else preferred status he cannot deal with Pinnacle until that period is over. I am still hopeful Pinnacle will complete shortly but every day that has gone by since last Friday makes it less likely.
-
So here were are, 6pm on Thursday 25th June and the employees wages not paid. Unless Pinnacle have agreed to complete the deal tomorrow or another buyer enters exclusivity with a non refundable deposit I can see the next move from the Administrators will be to liquidate the club. They have no money coming in and no money in the kitty to pay bills since Administration. Are the employees being asked to continue to work for nothing? Should the Administrators not be making a formal statement?
-
One major problem looming....the staff have not been paid...no money coming in....FL/Pinnacle in dispute, no football licence to continue....surely this means the next announcement from Mr Fry will be the liquidation of the club. He has no money to do anything else. We need this sorted and now. Why does the money man not put in some more to keep excusivity for another week if he intends to proceed no matter what the outcome? He risks losing what he has already paid otherwise.

Peter Reid says he has not been approached

Just an alternative view of matters. Not sticking up for anyone. -

Absolutely agree Duncan. -
Peter Reid says he has not been approached
Weston Saint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Not defending MJ or the Echo but has anyone thought that as Peter Reid is under contract he is hardly going to say he has been approached and will come in if the right party gained control of the club is he? Where would that leave him if another party gained control? Nothing is as straight forward as it seems in life, particularly in football circles so I am treating everything with suspicion. -
About bloody time

Not sure it will be a case of guzzumped but match the terms Pinnacle have already agreed. The fact that Fry is actively talking to others suggests he is losing confidence in Pinnacle big time. This is a big worry for staff at SMS and us supporters.

Nick, NSS has used up his 3 posts for the day but has emailed me a reply to post up for you. Nick, you are reading me wrong. My post was in any case hypothetical, but I was not suggesting that the original bid may have been made on an assumption that the penalty would be waived, merely that the bidders may have received expensive legal advise to suggest that that an appeal stood a very good chance of succeeding and that this may have been taken into account when negotiating a price with the seller. All the signs seem to be that the group intend to proceed with the purchase come what may, but understandably they are keen to do so on the most favourable terms for the club and themselves. I would have thought that would be what every Saints fan would want and expect them to do.

Seeking clarity on Monday's statement from the Football League
Weston Saint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
If we start with -10 and are given the right of appeal it leaves uncertainy affecting the whole league. The FL want it sorted before the fixtures start. That is my take on the statement. -
I am beginning to get very worried about all this. Solent read out a text they had received from Mr Lynam at 8:20am. Reading between the lines it seemed to me that unless the FL relent and allow the right of appeal, should the new owners wish to take up that option, then the purchase will not likely take place. Then we have the Swiss? Where are they today? Have they cooled, assuming they were realistic bidders? Now we have the MiddleEastern Businessman who Fry is reported to have had talks with last night and I have no doubt that is correct. Is Fry losing confidence in Pinnacle? Is their interest so flakey as to cause him to open up other avenues. If he was confident of the detail why not give Pinnacle an exclusivity extention. Appears to me Fry is a worried man and if he is worried we all have to be equally worried. I hope I am wrong with all this and that following further talks with the FL today an agreement can be reached and, assuming the other legal matters with creditors has been sorted, we can move to completion tomorrow at the latest.
-
Problem is they have Counsels Opinion saying 70% chance of success in overturning the situation. To me 70% is a risk and I am sure the FL will have an equally bullish opinion but you have to weigh up the costs against the gains. I ran a case in the Commerial Court in London where I had a similar % but with a little previous judgement history in my favour. If I lost it was likely to cost £1m in damages and risk opening a can of worms. If I won it was saving me and cementing previous judgements. As it happens I won but it was a big risk. Both sides will think they can get a judgement. The FL appear to be taking that risk away by saying if you want the golden share to enable you to play in this league you must abide by our decision. Did you get my note?
