  2. It gets better (or worse) ECB say they have no knowledge of resignations!! They say Pietersen stated he was not prepared to tour the West Indies under the present structure. Pietersen contacted (by someone - not ECB) but he was not prepared to discuss it whilst his mind in the present state.
  3. That I am not sure of and have left them out of the equasion. Rumour is that we do not owe them but of course that could change!
  4. Hi "charlie" Hope things are well with you. Have to meet up sometime again To be honest I do not know how the stadium loan will be dealt with. I am assuming they could reposses at any time if there was a loan payment default. If we go into Admin I am assuming they wold take possession outside of any other creditor and then lease back to the new administration and hold in their property investment porfolio. I thought the West Ham parent were taken over by the Islandic governement so are in effect now the owners of the stadium! My overall knowledge of the situation is very limited.
  5. Frank, very good post.
  6. There is one other major creditor I think but they will not likely put the club into Administration. Aviva are very aware of the precarious position we are in and I do not expect them to act to put us into Administration. Barclays will try to control the situation but unlikely to act either. In my opinion that leave the Directors of the plc. If they no longer feel we are a going concern and have exhaused all avenues they have a legal/fiducial duty to call in the Administrator. Voluntary Administration is what I would expect but it will be a last resort and whilst not a certainty it is very much moving from the possibiliy to the probability.
  7. Suggestion on Cricinfo is that Moores has resigned also. England in crisis Pietersen and Moores resign Cricinfo staff January 7, 2009 Kevin Pietersen and Peter Moores have resigned as England's captain and coach respectively, leaving the ECB in complete turmoil following the emergency board meeting that took place on Tuesday evening to discuss the rift in the leadership of the team. The 12-man board met by teleconference on Tuesday night, raising the possibility that Pietersen, who had not been due back from his holiday in Africa until Thursday, would pay the price for his outspoken views on the future direction of the England team. Now, however, it appears that Pietersen has taken his future into his own hands, and handed back the role he took on from Michael Vaughan barely five months ago. According to Sky News, Pietersen has given as his reasoning the fact that the ECB did not act quickly enough in responding to his demands over Moores' future. Andrew Strauss, who captained England in 2006 when Vaughan was out of the team with injury, is the hot favourite to lead them on the tour of West Indies, which begins in exactly a fortnight's time. Meanwhile, Moores' departure comes as less of a surprise. His position became untenable following the revelations of the rift, and there had been little evidence of progress under his tenure and his credibility had been damaged beyond repair. Cricinfo understands that Andy Flower, Moores' assistant coach, will be offered the interim role for the West Indies tour, although it remains highly debatable whether he will accept the role in the current circumstances. Speaking to the News of the World earlier in the week, Pietersen said: "This situation is not healthy, we have to make sure it is settled as soon as possible and certainly before we fly off to the West Indies. Everybody has to have the same aims and pull in the same direction for the good of the England team." Research conducted by the ECB's director of England cricket, Hugh Morris, however, suggested that Pietersen did not have the steadfast support of his team-mates or the back-room staff. The majority of the England support staff are understood to be supportive of Moores while most of the players are underwhelmed by Pietersen's dramatic intervention, as Steve Harmison demonstrated with his ambivalent comments on Tuesday. There was also some sympathy towards Moores who, it is understood, was given the authority to select the England captain when Paul Collingwood and Vaughan resigned, and there are those within the set-up who feel that Pietersen had betrayed the coach's trust. Attitudes towards Pietersen appeared to have hardened at board level. While few are completely convinced by Moores, they did not like the manner in which the captain has attempted to dictate events. As one board member told Cricinfo: "People who want to keep their jobs don't issue ultimatums." Although Kent's coach, Graham Ford, had been touted as Moore's probable successor, his candidature had been raised with a view to finding a man who could work alongside Pietersen. Ashley Giles is another option, although Warwickshire have warned they may not necessarily keep his job as the county's director of cricket open, should he be asked to fulfil a role as "stop-gap" coach in the Caribbean. © Cricinfo
  8. Andrew Cowen is highly respected and regarded by most people linked to the club. However it is my understanding he only came back reluctantly to try to help rescue the situation and is far too busy with other projects to give any more time than he is to SLH. Like Fitzhugh Fella, I am hearing he is fed up with it all. The next few weeks are going to be very important to SFC both on and off the field. In my personal opinion unless we strengthen the team in that period and win the games coming up we will be relegated. SLH is holding on by its fingertips on a very slippery ledge. Unless someone grabs its wrist and pulls in back from the brink very shortly it will slip away and the safety net of Administration will be the only thing to break its fall but not without many broken bones and years of rehabilitation. The prognosis is not good.
  9. Pietersen Quits as Captain. No support from the team on the Moores episode
  10. I spoke to someone a few months ago who was a friend of Rudyard Kipling at Burwash. One lovley story was he used to go down to Kiplings house at Batemans. Kiplings wife was very protective when Rudyard was working. As he used to come near the house Rudyard would wave to him from the window of his study but when he knocked his wife would say he was not at home. Fantastic to speak to someone (he is 94 now but still lucid) who was a close friend in the latter part of his life.
  11. Sky are wrong he signed a 4 year deal in 2006
  12. Here are the 10 out of contract in the summer: Kelvin Davis Chris Perry Joseph Mills Jason Euell Jake Thomson Bradley Wright-Phillips Jamie White Stern John Ryan Smith Michael Svensson
  13. Jake Thomson only signed a 1 year deal last summer so that id definately 9 now -Edit still 8 He was on CHEZ list.
  14. As someone has already suggested Perry was only on a one year contract and Smith on 6 months. Svensson on a 1 year deal as well with an option of a further year.
  15. No I was just providing a list of contracts I knew about. Add to that Skacel who signed in July 2006 on a 4 year deal. So another whose contract is not up at the end of the season
  16. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=6661 Rasiak signed May 2006 – 4 year deal Davis signed July 2006 – 3 year deal Wright Phillips signed July 2006 – 3 year deal Saganoski signs June 2007 – 3 year deal Surman signed July 2007 – 4 year deal Euell signed August 2007 – 2 year deal John signed August 2007 – 2 year deal Thomas signed August 2007- 3 year deal Dyer signs July 2008 – 3 year deal Lallana signs August 2008 – 3 year deal
  17. Aston Villa will step up their efforts to sign Emile Heskey after Marlon Harewood was put on standby for a £2m switch to Stoke. (Mirror)
  18. Quite simply we need goals and Saganowski has shown in his original loan spell he can provide them. £150,000, if the Echo are right, suggests he is on about £6,000 per week but I would expect appearances and goal bonus will increase that. I can understand the clubs reluctance and may be they do not feel he fits into the plan of play BUT we are at a critical point in the season. The next month is likely to shape whether our future is in the Championship or League 1. My own view is to use some of the Cup profits to pay his salary. Take a chance he will be able to contribute and it will save us looking for a loan player up front. If it goes tits up I challenge the club to show it will not without him. If the kids are to improve individually and as a team confidence is a big part of such development. Confidence comes with winning. They need to find that formula and fast.
  19. Too late in my opinion. We must act now but I accept your point. It just adds to my despair
  20. Good post GM with a bit of Kipling for culture.
  21. Doubt it unless Crouch is back in control
  22. What makes you think this will happen. No one else is quoting anything about him. My contacts have heard nothing, or at least they had not yesterday! I assume this is pure speculation or do you have an "insider" who you trust?
  23. Quite honestly G... I have lost all faith in JP and his way of playing. I was prepared to give it a go and certainly early on the way we played looked good even though we were getting beat too regularly. I took the view that as the team gelled we would improve. However it has not happened and I am now convinced our style is not for the Championship. I cannot see any investment on the horizon. When I look at Lowe, Wilde and Crouch positives and negatives none are suited but they are all that is on offer. To change the way we play we need a three or four good experienced pro's with at least 1of them up front and a new Manager/Coach. We also need to take at least 7 points out of the next three games although I think we will need all 9. Without the personnel and results in January we will get relegated. The problem is the present team and tactics will see us struggle in League 1 as well. Yep, I am very pessimistic about our future but a few wins might lift my spirits.
