Yep I am getting that from another source as well

Crouch was not taking a salary so could not and was not paid off. Wilde and Cowen are not taking salaries so cannot be paid off, they are entitled to nothing. Lowe is being paid for his CEO duties 2 days a week. I suspect about £50,000 a year no more so no significant pay off there.

Here is my take on it from many snippets of conversations I have had. "tommac" knows Allen through the airline leasing business and also knows Paul Gregg a previous director and shareholder of Everton. That is the football connection. "tommac", I will not use his real name, approaches Saints board to say Allen is interested. He also lets it slip to the London papers on purpose for obvious reasons. Allen is not interested but "tommac" convinced the board that Allen has cooled on the deal but worry not as he and Gregg often buy into a deal, clean it up and Allen follows. Discussions take place to try to convince all the main shareholders to agree to sell their shares but Wilde smells a rat as no finances have been revealed just promises. When the deal is stuttering and knowing how desperate the existing Executives are to clinch a deal he askes and gets a 5 figure sum to broker a deal with a larger 5 figure sum when clinched. To keep up his importance he leaks more to the London press. By some warped sense he thinks, quite wrongly, a message board can also further his desires. However this is not his business nor does he have the right experience and when things do not develop he stoops to be even more economical with the truth. The rest, as we say, is history. "tommac" was the poison from the moment he arrived on behalf of Allen That is my opinion of what took place. As I say it is based on some facts disclosed to me from many sources. Anyway it is history now and I will not be commenting on it further.

LC was convinced Allen was involved as were many others. However it was through Tom McLoughlin (tommac) and we all know he was not the most reliable of individuals. If there is blame "tommac" is where it lay not the board or any members of it, in my humble opinion.
-
It is suggested (and I suspect by McLoughlin) that he had met with Allen via his air leasing business and was asked to look at Saints. However very shortly after he said Allen has no further interest but for a fee (up front, which I understand Saints paid) and a success fee he would go out into the market he knew and broker a deal. McLoughlin (tommac) is the man we should be pointing fingers at on this particular matter.

Somehow I doubt he is listening and if he was he will not be phased by the rants of Mark Dennis. Crouch was sincere and passionate.

I must be on a delay. You are reporting what is said before I am hearing it.
-
Bet Lowe is quotes only. Doubt he will be live.

I am quite encouraged by his comments as I know the likes of Surman and Lallana do not want to go. I know Lowe wants to keep the young team together, he has said it enough.
-
Simple answer Nick, no. Sorry.
-
Mark, if you have any contact with the present "rulers" of the club go and ask them about a recent event concerning someone wanting to put cash into the club and having that rejected.
-
Right, just before Lowe stood down then. So Wilde had 16% and Crouch would have had about 19%. What Leon forgot at that time was he might have been considered part of the "concert party" holding over 30% and would have been forced to make a full bid for the company. I know it does not change to fact that Lowe rejected it but when Leon received advice from those who knew the rules, would he have backed off anyway?
-
I would like to know when that offer was made.
-
Why? It was Crouch's comment. Lowe agreed with the comment. We have unity Let's not take sides here. There is only one side we should support and it plays 46 league games on the pitch every season.
-
I have no take on Wilde.

Crouch Well he has been very consistant in his comments to friendly groups behind the scenes. There is nothing new here. Why has he decided to go more public now? Well I know he was upset by comments when the Accounts were released. I do not expect him to get into a further slanging match. He has said his piece and will continue to support Saints from the "terraces". Let us not forget he is asking for the supporters to unite and get behind the team by attending. That has to benefit the football club. Is that not what we all want? Lowe He is in the driving seat now. He has been remarkable quiet until the accounts were released and I fully expect he to continue quietly working behind the scenes to stabilise our financial position. Whatever the rights and wrongs he is passionate to develop a side of young talented and motivated players who want to play for Southampton. However, he has to balance that with the more pressing problem of our finances. No matter who is in charge, without investment and income we cannot go forward. We all have to play our part where we can Administration For those that are staying away hoping for Administration in the near future, think again. With careful management of finances and with the continued support of the loan holder, Bank and creditors it is not the expected or the intended path being taken. All that will happen is that some of our younger players will have to be sold resulting in a weaker team and the possibility of relegation and more cutbacks.

Thanks Steve.

Needs updating and future game predictions added please.

I bumped into Adam Lallana's father at a function on Friday. Adam wants to remain at Saints and his father wants and fully expects him to, despite the January transfer window. He also confirmed Adam is unaware of any attempt to sell him or gain a pre transfer window contract agreement with any other team. So this fits in with what JP has said.

Such a difficult choice as we had some excellent ones over the years. My first reaction to this thread was McGrath and Gabriel in the long past, Svensson and Lundekvam in the modern era. But when push comes to shove Mark Wright and Dave Watson just shade it for me.
