  1. Perhaps that is because they have only agreed the deal subject to him recovering and not paying any wages until he does?
  2. The Coach made mistakes, the players made mistakes! What is important is if they learn from those mistakes and move forward. Not interested in Leicester or their Manager. Different league, different team, different financial backing.
  3. Alpine Saint. Look inside please and you may see yourself as others see you. You have been a bit negative for a while. Some of it may be justified but not all the time. You and I have got on ok in the past and hopefully still will but you need to look at the number of posts criticising your posting views against those supporting them. Ease down on the aggression. If others come back at you with aggression just ingore the post. ;)
  4. Umpires happy with the wicket. Spoke to Steve Garret at Lunch. No pitch inspector today at the ground. He said an ideal wicket for someone like Davies. He bowled straight and the ball "wobbled" a bit. Hampshire players say nothing wrong with the wicket. Conditions have been the reason. Spoke to Tomlinson who has high regard for Davies and suggested his record, when to takeout his injuries, is very good. If it is sunny tomorrow it will be interesting to see what happens. Got to favour Durham to wrap up the win though.
  5. Spoke to Tony Pigot the pitch insecion liaison officer before the game but he is unable to comment on the pitch even to the umpires. He stayed most of the day and for part I had the same view as his. The ball was seaming quite a bit but with a true bounce. Spoke to the Durham coach at lunch. He agreed seaming but the wicket was also slow. Spoke to Umpire Rob Bailey in the middle when finally off for bad light and he did not think the wicket was too bad. Would be suprised if any point deduction.
  6. Lallana was to be rested tonight but insisted he wanted to play. That says enough for team spirit, enthusiasm and pure hunger. Well done Adam
  7. Very pleased with his performance. Played a corker (sorry)
  8. Just back with a big smile on my face. This team will not be in a relegation fight. It might not make the top 6 this season but if they stick together over the next few seasons this team will restore our position in the Premier league. Well done to Jan, exceeded all expectations in a very short time. Well done Lowe and Wilde for going with someome and something new. I am quite optimistic. Money well spent so far this season (mine I mean). Forget they are young kids, forget opposition to Lowe and Wilde. Get along and watch some fantastic football.
  9. 2 year contract extention according to Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricket/counties/2616158/Joyces-controversial-dismissal-takes-shine-off-Hampshire-win---Cricket.html Signed it on Friday accoprding to Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/aug/25/hampshire.middlesex
  10. Anyone else see this Derby report applying to us last season?
  11. Recently signed a long term contract with Hampshire according to a line in a BBC report of yesterdays match http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/counties/7579595.stm
  12. http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/southamptonvideo/ You need broadband with at least 1Mb and sit through an advert first.
  13. Surely this post is class conscious bile! Certainly bought the bile to my throat.
  14. But, SaintRobbie, there is no alternative at present. We do not have a god given right to investment. Others are managing without. Lowe & Co are just trying to cut our cloth to be able to survive. This is nothing to do with Lowe & co clearing the deck for investment. If the investment was coming there is no need to clear the decks! Agreed Lowe & co are doing this for SLH plc. That is their job and if it was your investment at risk you would be doing the same. Don't be fooled that the Fulthorpe way is the correct one. If it is just a change of personnel without long term financial backing we are in no different a situation than when Wilde & Co kicked Lowe out! If fact I would suggest we are in more trouble because of it. The transfer deadline is almost upon us. If Fulthorpe had the money men he would surely have acted by now. That suggests to me that despite all the "hints" being drip fed to all and sundry he just does not have what is required. Your hatred for Rupert Lowe is clouding your judgment and leading to knee jerk wishes. All in my humble opinion, of course.
  15. Good win. Puts us top of the table. 202 all out
  16. That is a very fair point. Proper investment should not be shunned. It would need a three year plan with money to back it up. Otherwise I would prefer the route Lowe is taking.
  17. Ervine seems to like Lords. Hope his side injury (pulled muscle) is not too bad. Over to the bowlers.
  18. Calm down Baj.
  19. Temporarly put a in the censor
  20. FA Cup Final 2003 "Seaman had not been troubled, but he demonstrated his quality eight minutes from time to deny Southampton an equaliser. Brett Ormerod's powerful drive was destined for the top corner until Seaman flung out a hand to divert his shot to safety." Now if that one had gone in And "And Ashley Cole came to Arsenal's rescue five minutes into injury-time when he smuggled James Beattie's header off the line." in the same match
  21. 4 year contract discussions are underway I am informed. Just about finding a wage level acceptable to Adam and the club. Mr Lowe has a high regard for Adam and even sorted out an urgent hernia operation with one of the top specialists before the season started so he would be fit to start.
  22. Good to have something to cheer. Only one game against a poor side who have not won since September last year BUT We usually are the team that let's such records end. We are usually a team that when we score let the opposition come back against us. We are usually a team that panic and lose concentration in the last few minutes and let it slip TODAY WE WERE NOT THAT TEAM I am going to enjoy my food and wine this evening.
  23. What a load of rubbish. You do not know him, you do not understand him, you do not understand his families values or you would not have made such a rediculous statement.
  24. No idea, I have lost touch. He told me he did read the forum when I spoke to him on the phone a month or so back.
  25. Saintlee knew of this one since mid May but chose not to post anything at the time as a few other of us also. We were told end of May, then end of June then before the season starts then last Tuesday then this Tuesday. Look, a lot of what is now coming out is factual including Shearer. Of that I am entirely satisfied. What seems to be missing is the investors to support the good intentions. I for one have a view that it will not happen. Someone is trying to big this one up. They tried Saintlee in May but he chose not to report it, Nick Illingsworth on the ugly inside in June or July and he did but the press did not pick it up, now the papers are getting a sniff BUT no one has seen the actual investment money. Lowe and Wilde are aware but again no money has been proved. Crouch was aware whilst he was still in power but it was all promise and no money evidence. Someone is living in fantasy land when it comes to the real investment imho. I am totally fed up with it all and will shut up now on the subject!
