  1. I speak to him off site. He remains sceptical like me.
  2. No we bloody did not, despite Mr Wilde telephoning Mr Cowen after the meeting to say we did.
  3. I am not sure what is expected from posters. We are a Championship team who will only command the sort of full backs like Vignal and Ostlund who would rather kick the ball high and in most cases to the opposition. They got caught out of position as much if not more than Surman and James.
  4. Coming back on.
  5. Why should he defend himself from some of the ****e posted on here. Mr Wilde would be best advised to keep his own counsel or reply throught the proper channels at a fans forum or the Official site.
  6. Let me give you my view. First, it was a marriage of convenience in an attempt to stave off probable Administration. Lowe is the "paid" employee. Wilde is non executive. Lowe was on holiday until Thursday so I assume the Stoke interest was the agent telling the club Davies wanted to go and then Stoke making contact with the club to follow up. Wilde arrives on Saturday and is confronted before Lowe has spoken to him (I know there is such a thing as a mobile phone or email) and says he knows nothing and then allegedly backtracks and says he has just heard Lowe tell a friend. Wilde has a non executive position in the club as Football Chairman but Lowe makes the executive decisions taking advice from all on the board.
  7. No I am following it as well 197/8 of 40. Excellent recovery by Hampshire after it looked like 260 was possible early on
  8. 3-0 to Chelsea and it is only half time
  9. Seems Paul Terry has already gone!
  10. If we were to go into Administration the Administrator will sell off (give away) all our high earners to manage the debt going forward. Customs and Excise will not agree CVA so we will not only be docked 10 points meaning inevitable relegation but starting the next season with a penalty of approximately 17 points with a weak squad meaning further relegation an almost certainty. All the club are trying to do is manage the wage bill to avoid the other penalties. How many hard working small businesses will fail because Saints cannot pay off what is owed to them? Surman is not a high earner so I doubt he will be offered for sale. The strategy is to get rid of the high earners hence Davies going. Same for all the others. So to sum up, like them or loath them, Lowe and Wilde have no alternative.
  11. Pretty sure nothing is going to happen. How do I know? Well Lowe is sending out the signal. "We have to sell Davies because we cannot afford his wages!" he told a supporter when attending SMS yesterday. Fulthorpe group still seem to think it will happen but IF they have the money why has it not been done already? Seems to me that have not managed to convince enough investers to jump on board. Cannot see that situation changing. I assume Morph's group are out of the loop.
  12. Not maybe, I spoke to them at half time. And no his agent is not looking for a move for him. Drew would rather play in midfield but is happy as left back as long as he is "in the game" and able to get forward.
  13. Drew will be gutted if he has to leave Saints. They are all he wants to play for. The only way he will go is if Saints say they want to sell him and as of yesterday afternoon he and his family were unaware of any such plans. His agent was in the crowd watching him play.
  14. Just back from the game. Upside Make no mistake about it, this Saints team will win more than they lose this season. Good attacking football, good passing, good recovering when the ball is lost. This team wants to play for Southampton. Some of their football was a joy to watch. Suddenly we are getting our moneys worth. We made a good Birminham side look very ordinary for long periods of the game. We were the better side in the first half. I thought the second half was about even Downside We lost!
  15. and if McGoldrick's goals do the same? Or Lallana etc etc...????? It is a gamble but a needed one imo and I think the majority of the supporters support that view judging by comments on here.
  16. Good player with real quality, only problem i can forsee, is injury, always getting injured and out for long periods, hope that is not the case this time ANDY710 I think Rasiak would be a big player for us as he has that knack of upsetting centre halves and find the net (how very Hendo) but my main concern is will we be tempted to hit it long as he's good in the air? DrWatford It is not injuries that have kept him out of the team! Good in the air. He cannot jump and is ****e in the air. Upsetting Centre halfs. He has no strength and will not challenge anyone. Rasiaks only real attribute is that he can get into a space and score if the defence is weak. Failed in the Premier ever time he played as they do not alow such space. That is my opinion having watched him regularly. I would be more worried if they were after Stern John.
  17. It will never happen like this. It has been impossible for previous clubs to agree a CVA with the tax and vat man. Customs and excise have been embroiled in litigation, most of which they have lost, on this subject so refuse to agree a CVA on principle. 17 points seems the going rate for a new start on top of the 10 points deduction in the year of Administration.
  18. You don't if he is home grown as far as I know.
  19. Heard last night whilst at the Rose Bowl that certain quarters of the press (unnamed) think Fulthorpe is all talk (bit stronger words used) and no money deal likely. I am still of the opinion that no deal will happen as this one as all the hallmarks of previous alleged interest. Too much talk in the open and no money action. Hope I am wrong!
  20. Here is one posters report of a conversatio before the Exeter game. I give it credence because a lot of what has been said was within my knowledge.
  21. Have to agree, I was told the same from a source who has his finger on the pulse. Mind you that was back in early July. I know our coaches want to keep him and we desperately need someone to hold the ball (even if his work rate is ****) Just maybe the thinking has changed.
  22. Nope, are any of the clubs relegated this season to Div 1 finished? And no, there is a fair amount of optimism but there would be, both their sons are playing regularly now Will find out more when I see them at the game on Saturday.
  23. Nice injection of humour. Just what the doctor ordered.
  24. Quite simply the club taking him on loan does not want the initial full outlay plus his wages if he fails like he did at Bolton. Loan fee and paying his wages is the best way for such club. we are not in much of a position to bargain. WE CANNOT AFFORD A PLAN B (not aimed at you Rob) But if we can control our outgoings by getting the high earners off the books and cut back in other areas we should be able to survive financially, even if we are relegated. Other teams are.
