Well done Steve, looks fine and added to home page on my mobile. Reads well on there as well.

Well that proved to be crap. Sky have said St Georges Park is not being considered. The original lead was from someone who works for a sport travel agency that manages logistics for some top teams (spurs, city, wolves, newcastle, rangers to name a few). The company has been tasked to arrange hotels and travel for 8 weeks starting mid may. Still set up a good discussion thread

Premier league is back in June. I am told from someone (I wont say where he works or what he does but has contact with Spurs, City, Wolves, Newcastle, to name a few) to organise for 8 weeks event starting mid May. All premier league teams will play their remaining games at St Georges Park behind closed doors and for TV only. The complex will host 2/3 games a day that will be streamed live. The players will go into isolation mid May at select hotels in the vicinity of St Georges and will train at local clubs grounds. They will not be able to see family and friends during the period of games. Each player will be tested regulary to ensure safety and hotels will be locked down for players only. Could be a hoax but seems plausible. I do not know the above informant personally.

Said it before and I will say it again - for opposition defenders Long is like a Wasp at a Picnic.
-
Coaching Staff tight lipped on Bertie today but no one seems to have heard about a rift as previously suggested on this forum.
-
There isn't one unless Rahane stays but my understanding is that he finished today. Did not field for Kent second innings but sat by the boundary.
-
The only time a replacement player can do everything is following a head injury and concussion meaning he is out for the rest of the match. Otherwise, if the opposing captain agrees, we can bring in a specialist Wicket Keeper to keep if player is out but he cannot bat in either innings. That is why they are using Donald as sub so Alsop can bat
-
We could get a sub WK but he would not be able to bat. Donald is the sub taking the role so Alsop can bat
-
Abbott says Alsop should be able to bat but not take the wicket keeper gloves for the rest of the match.
-
I note the comments about getting another overseas for the final but the rules do not allow it. You cannot play an overseas player unless he played in the group stages. So Rahane could not have played and we could not bring anyone else in

Expecting an announcement at 4pm regarding a signing. No idea if it is a contract extension or a new signing

The Pilot has been named as David Ibbotson and the plane hired by representatives of Sala. Mr Ibbotson, a gas engineer who operates his own boiler repair company in North Lincolnshire, has extensive experience in private flights and parachute expeditions.
-
Correct Dave. I was with Eric in Corporate on Saturday and he was telling our host about his experiences. He also has said before that if he had to make the decision to ditch on that day he was not expecting to survive. He has been reading the site today Very sad news about Sala and the Pilot. Presumably his WhatsAp message was just as the plane got into trouble but I suspect it will remain a mystery as to what happened.

Nice goodbye chat with Dale Steyn after the match. He has enjoyed his time with Hampshire and has not ruled out coming back but could not say more. He is back to SA now as he has been drafted into the 1 day squad against Zimbabwe. We will miss him Spoke to Rod Bransgrove about next years opening batsmen. He said they would probably look to an overseas for that position whilst persevering with Weatherly with Soames also in consideration. He liked the way Alsop is developing. Good win in 5 sessions. Wicket was lively but with some poor shot selections. Our world class bowling looked far the strongest. Great 50 from Trescothick showed that when you apply yourself the wicket was perfectly playable. No worries about any points deductions. If the Match Liaison Officer deems the pitch below average then as it our first such rating in 12 months no action will be taken.

Format is Winner of South and North group progress to Semi Final. N2 plays S3 in QF with winner playing N1 S2 plays N3 in QF with winner playing S1

I was there. Incredible bowling for the last 3 overs. Almost 3 overs of Yorkers. Well done to the Kent bowlers. Weatherly was devastated but not his fault. Our bowling in the later overs was very poor

I made my decision mid season not to renew and nothing has convinced me to change my mind. It is just not the crap football over the last two seasons, although they gave a great fight and showed superb commitment late on, but the whole football experience. Listening to our Chairman interviews the last few days does not convince me anything will change soon. The club rightly panicked in February when they thought they were going down and dropped a lot of investment/profile projects. That takes time to get going again. We were told the sell to the Chinese owners was because Kat could not give us the investment we needed. Nor will the new owner in the short term. He has bought our brand to expand in China. If he is unsuccessful we will bounce along on the bottom of the investment chart. If successful that will take time, effort and money. He has already borrowed to buy the club. That needs servicing along with the cost of setting up China connections/infrastructure. So, nothing has changed. We march on the spot with the occasional backward step should be the new mantra
-
I would be even more dismayed with this club if they do not interview at least 3 contenders before making a choice I have no problem with the 3 being Managers at present out of work. We do not have the time or the clout to start trying to prise good Managers await from other clubs. They must have a good shortlist, interview those on it, and then negotiate with what they consider is the best man for the job in hand. I have no faith that they will make a good choice for a club that has lost its way in the last year or so. I have had enough and will not be renewing my season ticket whatever the outcome. I no longer enjoy the match day experience.

Interesting on Sunday as Jonathan Moss is refereeing and he does not like Redmond and I understand the feeling is mutual. From a very good professional source who I will not name as he has run the line at Southampton this season.
-
Agree there is no way we should sell him this window. We must make a stand.

To lighten up this thread but still on the Scousers theme. "The Ferrari F1 team fired their entire pit crew yesterday." This announcement followed Ferrari's decision to take advantage of the British government's 'Work for your Dole' scheme and employ some Scousers The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent documentary on how unemployed youths from Croxteth were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Ferrari's existing crew could only do it in 8 seconds with millions of pounds worth of high tech equipment. It was thought to be an excellent, bold move by the Ferrari management team as most races are won and lost in the pits, giving Ferrari an advantage over every other team. However, Ferrari got more than they bargained for. At the crew's first practice session, not only was the Scouse pit crew able to change all four wheels in under 6 seconds but, within 12 seconds, they had re-sprayed, re-badged and sold the car to the Mclaren team for 8 cases of Stella, a bag of weed and some photos of Lewis Hamilton's bird in the shower.

Afridi injured and Dawson back with England in preparation for the Test tomorrow. Decent win puts us back into contention for QF's

4 years ago Liverpool were in the same position and stood firm.....so should we. Liverpool/Virgil should show respect. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/10229750/Luis-Suarez-ordered-to-train-alone-as-furious-Liverpool-manager-Brendan-Rodgers-accuses-striker-of-a-total-lack-of-respect.html
