From the Daily Telegraph:

BEGBIES TRAYNOR, the insolvency specialist, said its work levels were well above those at the same time last year because more companies were in distress due to the recession.

Reporting its results for the year to April 30, the company said pre-tax profits rose 28pc to pounds 7.2m, on revenue 29pc higher at pounds 62.1m. The board proposed a final dividend of 1.7p a share, up from 1.5p.

Ric Traynor, executive chairman, said: "The extent of business distress, the increasing volume of formal insolvency appointments and our increased capacity to assist troubled businesses, both in respect of their immediate needs and over the longer period of rehabilitation or administration, mean we are expecting to see our counter-cyclical work flow continue to grow this year and into the medium term.''

The company's insolvency business accounts for 80pc of revenue, but the rest of its business in tax and corporate finance was hit by the downturn, particularly by a lack of transactions in the first half.

Nope - that doesn't work either. Must be a link to a protected image so it may depend on the browser being used. IE 8 doesn't like it.

Would you give eternal thanks to your dustbin man for removing your bin bags and stopping your house from being overrun with waste?

Are you forever grateful to the mechanic who serviced your car for an extortionate fee?

Are you indebted to a numbskull at a travel agents who sorted the booking for your latest holiday to Fuertaventura?

No

At the end of the day, Fry was just doing his job and he almost made a real hash of it.

All the thanks he needs will be found in the nice, fat paycheque he'll get out of the Administrator's fee.

No your irony was not lost - we all know what thread you are alluding to. It was just that you made the point very badly with shyte grammar and english. Added to that, your avatar does not display and you have the audacity to advise us on internet browsers - now that is ironic...!!

It is true that people with poor grammar should certainly not be advising anyone on internet browsers...

Unfortunately my name is not Steve so i can't make this point...

Well i'd like to make it clear that from this point forward i only want people called Steve who use Firefox as their browser of choice to contribute to this thread...
I can confirm that your avatar works in Opera, Safari and Firefox - but none of those actually correct your grammar or spelling, nor do they make it any funnier. I am very disappointed....and of course you will understand that those of us in IT have to use all browsers (including IE) to make sure our web-based applications are usable for everyone - unlike those with amateur avatars. Yes - I am also a self-righteous ****.

What does that mean? My knowledge of internet nerd language isn't up to speed.

1) You claim not to be up to speed on internet nerd language

2) You admit to being in IT

Face it pal - you're up to your neck in nerd...

Also i've designed a few websites...and am fully aware of the need to test on other browsers...this does not mean that i use them for the purposes of viewing this website however.

Oh and my grammar really isn't that bad now is it?

Many Thanks,

Steve

Not at all what I said - you try re-reading it again, and in the meantime I'll check you out using Chrome.
