.... OK, Ok, Ok - I know there will be the inevitable "Leave it alone - its all in the past reaction" but just for transparancy are the accounts of the event going to be published or have they been and i missed them???

Ears pinned back and ready for the responses

Thanks

I'm just glad we had people who tried to help the club in the first place...

Well done to all involved methinks...

True enough but that doesn't discount the need to answer the question raised. In fact I would like to know how much the club collected in total from all the fund raising efforts less expenses. This amount should exclude any significant contributions with conditions attached as they would not represent charity in the true sense of the word.

Not disputed, but for those of us who supported the events it would be nice to know how much was raised and where it went - would it not?

Very reasonable and surprised it hasn't already been communicated. There are many questions that IMO still remain unanswered over the whole administration process and simply taking the 'oh well suppose we'll never know' stance is not an excuse to let it lie.

I believe it is a reasonable question by OTH, if someone had organised an event for a charitable organisation and did not disclose how much was raised or where the funds had ended up fraud would be levelled at the organisers (which I am sure is not the case here)

I thought I read somewhere on here that if the money raised would not be required by the club then it would indeed go to a nominated charity ?

I agree it is a good question.NI was there on the day and invovled in the collections etc, he may know more.Does anyone on here know him to ask?

I did get the impression after reading some of the stuff running up to the dya that it looked like it may even lose money!

I myself thought the organisers did a marvelous job donating their time.

Agreed. For all of us who donated money though it would be nice to know what happened to it.

Yep i myself would also like to know how much was raised as donated a bit on the day and got a band to play there, would be nice to know that they made a bit and that the money went towards Saints in the Community if not the club :)

As an aside, what a gesture it would be if that dear older lady who was filmed paying across a few hundred quid was given her money back, the PR for the club would be great and someone whose need is now greater than the clubs benefits, it was lovely gesture by the lady and one which demonstrated the feeling some had about saving our club.

What Pompey thread? Are you mixing me up with Ponty?

The thread I started "Our Position or Pompey's " which 19c hijacked, posted the following:

"what a pointless thread. A vehicle 4 the usual windbags to revel in the misfortune of others to avoid accepting the shortcomings of our recent history. I have no love at all for Pompey but our own existence would be all the poorer without the motivation to do better with them down the road and the desire to return to the old status quo . Perhaps we should at least recognise that their takeover bid has not been endorsed by one of their playing legends. Once again Daren and Wes are in the glass house being predictable."

Now if you're going to, quite rightly, chastise me for diluting the debate here with a personal swipe at 19c what say you over the above post?

By all means have a go at me but play it fair. If Numpteen Canteen had kept his mouth shut and not started on me on that thread then I would have continued ignoring him...

Dreadfully sorry Mr W, I had not seen that thread. Amazingly, we mdont get to read all the posts that are posted up here at all times - most of us have jobs to get with too. I was alerted to this thread byt a PM from someone and I popped up and commented, I would probably have done the saem if anyone had bothered to PM me to use the "REPORT POST" button that is on EVERY post on here.

Bit like abusing a Police officer for not arresting a kid for mugging a Gran when the Police officer was dealing with a drunk driver 5 miles away...

May I suggest that you follow police advice and go and hide in a bush Pancake until the nasty man goes away? ;)

Seriously I do think DW has a point NC has wrecked the Pompey thread (and many others). His trolling isn't even amusing.

Well officer I don't drink and a bit old to be classed a kid and in any event a Gran is more likely to lift my wallet than the other way round. Released without charge - again, I hope.

Can you, in all honesty, go and find a post from NC where he has broken a rule on TSF? If you can, use the "Report This Post" button, but make sure that what you are reporting really is rule breaking please.

"100% Saints discussion. Please keep it on-topic and civil. Abusive behaviour is not welcomed."

I think you'll find that the post that started all this rubbish didn;t exactly fit that criteria did it?

I'm not defending my behaviour but ask yourself, if 19C hadn't posted that confrontational piece of crap would we be having this conversation?

I'm struggling, even with my handy "see things through Daren's eyes" glasses, to see what is in the slightest bit "confrontational" there, to be honest.

My twopenneth worth? What is the motivation behind any thread comparing Pompey's position to ours apart form the usual 'slagging' opportunity? Any football fan, welcomes banter especially with local rivals, but no one wants to see clubs go under except the minority morons who dont appreciate that the profile of clubs in the south is elevated by having regional success...

IN this threads case, this was Saints fans money that was donanted to the club, so there is an interest in how much was raised, what the costs were and where it went - Some will argue that its realy motivated by hoping to spot some holes in the repoprt that could be used against those involved so maybe its wrong to pursue... personnally, it should be transparent - if it did good it should be praised, if it was a bit of **** up, then we should know - I susueoect that if LOWE had been behind it (I know impossible) and there were concerns about where the cash went, I dont think Mr W would have complained about the post - even though we all know that if LOwe had been involved it 'Would definitely have been a **** up and the money would have ended up in his back pocket'...... its the double standards on here that are a constand source of amusement

:smt081 I think this was strictly enforced we would lose 90% of the content on this forum. Most of the regulars go off-topic at some point in a thread (mainly to amusing effect I might add). In fact, this little excursion into the forum rule interpretation has taken it off topic.

I haven't really seen NC "ruin" a thread, unless you consider posting a contradictory view as ruination. He (she?) seems to have the "Lowe Effect", where it doesn't matter what he says or does people get the hump.

I kinda wish I hadn't bumped OTH's thread now. Before I had the fortunate position of being able to rip the **** out of him for starting a thread that nobody replied to. Now look at it!! :-)

I think that this is a fair and reasonable request !

As it was officially before the ML takeover, I suppose only the administrator would have the actual bottom line figures ??

Maybe (if contacted) they would supply information or (as someone already pointed out) it will be itemised in the final SLH administration report ?

Can somebody tell me is this a 5 minute arguement or the full 30 hour session?

;-) arguments are fine by me... like a good barney, but just get frustrated with need to say teh same thing over and over as nothing sinks in .... there are some amazing double standards applied to any slightly controvercial debate.

'Best let this one drop hey, in case it shows something wrong.... and as we cant pin it on that evil ***t Lowe, dont want anyone one to be able to criticise the holy ones'

Double standards are the right of this forum.JPS gives away penalties fails to mark players ,seems not to care when we were playing away at SW and is given hero status, DMG scores a fair amount of goals and is pilloried and it is cheered that he is gone.

Oh do shut up you nutter...

what did this contribute to the board?

Why are some posters intent on winding up 19c (even if he is a troll)

I foresee this thread degenerating into jibes about medical conditions & being locked & then you will probably blame 19c.

and back on topic, I think fans that gave charitable donations do have a right to know where they went, at the very least have the right to ask.

Mods - Cant we get this thread back on the original subject.

What has happened to the cash raised via "saints aid"

PS: It doesnt surprise me that we have heard sweet FA from any of the organisers as to what they did with the money.

Well there you go. The organisers aren't commenting. Until such time it will be pretty difficult to get the thread back on topic.

This is not an argument Nick, this is contradiction.

Anyway, maybe the forum could have an area for threads that go off topic, a bit like the corner of the playground where all the fights start?

Back on topic.

My Grandson put his pocket money in one of the buckets too.

Can I still tell him that he helped the club?

btw, well done OohTH for sticking your head above the parapet and asking this question, you must have realised that you would have got shot at, so yes, good on you.

Actually he started the thread on 26-07-2009, 09:36 AM and got zero replies until I bumped it yesterday 18 days later. We were beginning to think it must be a taboo subject :-)
