Tractor_Saint Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 (edited) I know there's another thread about the OS giving a misleading headline but that thread is discussing the OS really and not the actual Saints Player. If I understand it right, Saints TV was £30 for the year last year but if you were a ST holder it's was £20? Is that right? This year it appears the prices have increased to £34.99 but there's no discount I can see for ST holders. Before I sign up am I missing something ? Also, do you think they'll be giving the audio for the QPR match this weekend? Thanks Mike PS Wasn't easy for me to find the Saints Player actual link but found it in the end. To save others time it's here Edited 31 July, 2009 by Tractor_Saint
JonnyLove Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 Yes it's a replacement unfortunatly no discount and don't think the comentary starts until millwall. so no not for QPR game. I have to say the videos have been running very slow at work so will try again at home and see what it's like there.

CB Fry Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 They just sent me an email about my new subscription but I never said id renew. I emailed them and said to cancel it last season, I never even managed to get saintstv working but they didn't help. So are they now going to nick 35 quid from my account? I've cancelled today as well, £35 is just too much for L1 commentary, especially as none of the blurb on this new service mentions "exclusive" commentary, which was the selling point (or gun-to-the-head) of SaintsTV. If I can get Saints commentary from Solent (or somewhere else) online (which I think I can) then I don't need to spend £35.
Runaway Posted 1 August, 2009 Share Posted 1 August, 2009 Us poor saps in other countries are faced with this being our only choice (BBC radio blocks match commentary outside the UK). So now I'm looking at $80 australian for a year's subscription, which I'm not sure is worth it. /facepalm
Saint Charlie Posted 2 August, 2009 Share Posted 2 August, 2009 Is this worth getting then? There seem to be quite a few interviews on it.
Convict Colony Posted 2 August, 2009 Share Posted 2 August, 2009 Same boat as you but i thought i can't support the club by buying a season ticket as I am not in uk so i would sign up for the player and the text alerts. Player plays well for me and seems to be updated fairly regularly, get updates from text just before they go on the web a la stern john leaving, I am also following them on twitter and the newsletter so I have my information streams covered I will not miss a thing. All of which will obviously be cross referenced here.
ART Posted 2 August, 2009 Share Posted 2 August, 2009 Premium TV used to do a match console and radio commentary deal for 19 quid. Somewhere along the line they've become greedy like everyone. 39 quid for overseas listeners is day light robbery. I can't see too many joining to listen to League One matches unless Saints get themselves into the top positions pretty early on. How can Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland still offer free online radio commentary but other clubs stitch their supporters. It's almost certain the commentaries will be those of Radio Solent who's online commentaries elsewhere will be blocked. We've not had decent commentary since PlanetFM days. Colinjb Posted 2 August, 2009 Share Posted 2 August, 2009 Until they start broadcasting the games live with video and not just audio, I won't even consider signing up to anything like this.

True but did you notice those free radio coverage clubs are both up north, an area not renowned for being splashers of the cash., Any type of radio coverage or extended highlights is a god send if the missus starts watching some cr*p, I can tune in and get that unpleasant feeling of every time the opposition gets the ball they are about to score. the saint in winchester Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 Is this a REPLACEMENT for Saintstv? I renewed my SaintsTv membership not long ago, paid my £30, so don't see why I should pay AGAIN! My SaintsTV sign-on doesn't get me access ... Maybe Mr Luker can clarify the position with an announcement.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 3 August, 2009 Share Posted 3 August, 2009 You won't have to pay again - Apparently we were all supposed to receive an email about it but I haven't as yet. I got mine last Friday. Username is the same as for Saints tv, but they emailed me a new temporary password. Also said that it will lapse in October when my Saints TV subs run out. Video window is a bit bigger, and it works on macs with less hassle, but otherwise the same as Saints TV really.
Mozz Posted 5 August, 2009 Share Posted 5 August, 2009 Has anyone still not received an e-mail? As I hadn't I sent an e-mail to customerservice@performgroup.com as the news story on OS said queries from existing subscribers should be directed there. I've now received an e-mail that just says: Thanks for contacting us, We are unable to find an account with an active subscription. We can see you have registered on the site, however the Live events part of the site does require an active subscription. You should have been sent an email confirmation after purchasing your subscription. Do you still have this? If you do could you please send it to us so we can help you to access the site. If you cannot find the confirmation and still believe you have made a payment can you please supply us with the following. Full Name: Full Address including post/zip code: Site Subscribed To: Username (if known): Email Address used at sign up: Netbanx Reference: Many Thanks Customer Services Not helpful because I've been paying monthly for the last couple of years and the subscription is clearly active as I can log into Saints TV at present. I also have don't have a "Netbanx" reference. If anyone else has been having troubles would appreciate any feedback as to what you've done and if it's sorted matters. That is EXACTLY the same email i received from them, when i queried my login details. Since then I've had another 6 replies from them, which all completely miss the point - they're now saying ''they cannot find my account'' and they're asking me to create a brand new subscription and pay again for the new service. utter farce - they've lost me as a customer anyway.
