Taking Le Tiss - MLT autobiography

I must have been on another planet as I never realised that Matt Le Tissier had written his autobiography. How long had that been in the making and has anyone else been involved in compiling it at all?

I noticed the announcement at the game yesterday that he will be signing copies of his book at the megastore on 20th August. Should be a good turn out and a chance to show our appreciation again for our legend!

I love MLT just like everyone else, however I wonder to what great detail his book will go into. He's not that old, played for one club etc. I guess were get his opinions on lowe ex managers etc.

All thos won't stop me clambering down there fir a photo and copy of his book though :)

Unlike Wayne Rooney who is ancient with an autobiography ;)

I have only done this once before and that was so that I could meet and shake hands with one of my greatest heroes - Spike Milligan.

Legend !!!!!!!

Read all his war books, bloody funny !!

'I got off the train just before london, which was quite difficult as it didn't actually stop there' !!!

There is an apparently very funny play based on his War Diaries on up in London at the moment. Might try to see it before it closes. The great man was very old when I eventually got to meet him. He was an utter, utter genius.

:) Don't expect anything new from it, but can't wait to read it. Such is the magic of the guy to all Saints fans.

how much will it be on the day?

Well if its a signing at the megastore you can virtually guarantee that will be the RRP of £18.99.

Book signings usually are at full price cos you get the increased value of someones signature in it (I got Charlton Heston's autobiography a few years ago, signed, and of course now he has passed away the value of the book increases)

Amazon is cheapest at the mo for £10..........so get it virtually half price and get MLT to sign it another time (at an evening match for instance as he is usually there when not on Sky)

it's a book written from a fan's view - here is someone's comments;

A fan's celebration of footballing genius, 11 May 2005

When I ordered this book I wondered if it would be the definitive biography of Le Tiss, or whether I should wait for the big man's autobiography to come out in the autumn. In fact, it turns out to be a superb emotional journey of Saints fandom, written intelligently by an author whose book on Euro 2004 I had also enjoyed. It covers the basic story of Le Tiss's life, but concentrates more on what his performances and presence in the team meant to the author: the ups and downs (and constant near-relegations) of being a Southampton fan. Great to read on the train on the way to St Mary's! Highly recommended

Would have been worth more if you'd taken it from his cold dead hands ;)
