Reserves ONLY win 6-1.....

OK... OK... no excitement... it was only Salisbury Reserves....and we did have quite a few players on the teamsheet with first team experience.

....... BUT any win is good news and many of those featured were " out of favour " or returning from injury...even Pulis found a new spot at right back !

Players who are regularly in the reserves or on the bench have problems with confidence when they don't get regular games, but last night's performance has done no harm at all to team morale...and given a boost to the "forgotten men," who've been out of form, or spend a long time recovering from injury.

Well done the Stiffs !

Interesting that Pulis played at RB. Maybe the new coaching staff might have seen some potential for him in that position? For all the stick we (probably rightfully) give him, it would be nice if he didn't turn out to be a total waste of wages (and oygen, some might say ;)).

P.S. Sam Argent must be absolutely gutted, unless he is injured?

;)

P.P.S. Well done the reserves on getting a win!

I'm actually hoping that this is an indication that Sam Argent will be considered for the first team (unlikely, I know). Apart from last night, I've only been to one reserve game and Sam Argent was outstanding in that game.

And Pulis hardly 'played' - he was there, but all our play went on the left side through Molly, Fish and Holmesey.

Thanks for anwsering my question (and an unasked one as to how good people think Argent is).

So, it looks like the only real use we could get out of Pulis is as ballboy/kit washer/tea lady then?

Not with his gammy arms/hands/eyes we couldn't...

Apart from the fact that I got there just before Salisbury scored, with Saints 3-0 up in the first 7 or so minutes (thought it was 3-1 at half time and we were still stuffing them nevertheless), I'd just like to say Pulis would have been out of his depth on their team. He was slower in thought and reaction and worse in execution than anyone else on the Saints team and half of the Salisbury side who were noticably rattled. The only two decent passes I saw him play went back to the keeper.

All credit to Henderson for trying it though.
