No recall for Poke ?

Should probably loan somebody in for the time being. I wish it could be Richard Wright.

I have faith in Bart, but not loads. It think it's pretty lucky that we've got Wycombe and Tranmere in the coming weeks and hopefully KD will be fit by then. Not looking forward to Leeds on the 19th though.

Sky seem to be writing that we wanted to recall him from Torquay but we arenot able to ? Unusual that there isnot a recall in emergencies clause ? We would want him on the bench, but I wonder if we should get an older experienced pro on loan instead ?

Forget Poke ..... get a Goalkeeper in :)

The rules state:

48.2.4 The period of a Long Term Loan shall expire no earlier than the end of the season in which the Long Term Loan takes place and a Player signed on such a transfer must complete the loan period and may not be recalled by his original Club at any time during that loan period save:

a) when the Player is recalled and transferred permanently to another Club; and

b) in the case of a goalkeeper whose agreement may contain a recall clause which may only be implemented in exceptional circumstances with the consent of the Executive.

The Football League just don't like Southampton.

This from the Torquay OS dated 1st September:

Michael Poke has made a swift return to Plainmoor when he completed a loan move back to the Gulls earlier today. Fresh from playing a huge part in United's return to the Football League back in May Michael's loan will run until January 2nd 2010 with a recall clause for exceptional circumstances included. Michael will be available for selection at the weekend for the visit of Bournemouth as he starts his third spell at the club.

What's the point of putting a clause like that in, if you are unable to recall the player, when your first choice gets injured?

i should think that 'exceptional circumstances' are if your 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices are out injured.

Sorry but I don't like your stance, this is Southampton FC, we will probably lose to Wycombe and Tranmere.

There must be a recall clause, we have denied Torquay permission to play Poke today in the Cup against Stockport, but have allowed Jake Thomson to play. We wouldn't do that unless we felt there may be a need to recall Michael.

But there isn't a need. We still have another 3 fit keepers.
