Anthony Pulis

Speaking to a Lincoln fan today. In his view young Pulis is ...'the least talented Imps player to pull on a Lincoln shirt in the past 5-6 years'..

Apparently his loan has been extended to 7th January with a rumour that Saints are paying his wages at Sincil Bank.

The news hasn't been viwed with much excitement in Lincoln

Still can't fathom out why the previous regime sanctioned the signing of Pulis and Forecast. Suggestion of some tax advantage on the Davies/Bale tranfers but surely this must have been offset by wages.

However further north Ollie Lancashire seems to be a fixture at Grimsby but they appear to be heading out of the League so perhaps can't read too much into this.

Lancashire has actually been getting some decent press up at Grimsby and the general opinion amongst their fans is that he's been a decent signing. I get the impression they would like to see him stay until the end of the season at least but whether or not that happens, only time will tell.

good original post. You do wonder why those 2 were signed You might be right with saying makeweight with with other transfers deals.

I remember reading that we got forecast instead of some cash from spurs i think. I doubt we will ever know the exact details. they are clearly both rubbish players anyway and hope to be shot of them soon. waste of squad numbers

I think its difficult to judge Forcast as I doubt many have seen him play. Not many have seen Poke play but most recognise he is one of the future so perhaps they are on a similar level?

I was hoping that Pulis would se the move as a challenge and step up a gear to show that he has the right to play footy proffesionally rather than get a free pass cause his dad manages a prem team but it doesnt look like he has found his level yet.

As with all transfers though, players are bought because they are supposed to be fantaastic, could be fantastic, ment to be the type of player a particular manager thinks the team need or in the right place at the right time. Its always a gamble. Man U took Forlan as there next goal machine! How many did he score there?

The gambles taken in the past few years were all punts from way behind any sensible and rational thinking because the people in charge were desperate to turn things around. If one or two of those punts came off the pay back would have justified the effort. Say for instance the kids team had played with no fear and bagged a hatfull of goals in the 1st few games? they could of then gone onto that winning mentality and taken the league by suprise. Problem was when they didnt get the goals and they started conceding. Thats when they needed the experience around them to stop the games going the wrong way. Down hill from there.

Now aday's it doesnt look like there will be many gambles although it may take a couple of years to get the likes of Pulis off the wage bill and fill the squad with quality from top to bottom.

The news about Pulis doesn't surprise me, the sooner we offload him the better.

Until my dying day - I will never...EVER...come to understand the reasons why we signed the lad. It's like the Lord Lucan vanishing...or the Marie Celeste mystery...or how Harry Redknapp never realised he actually owned a racehorse that was given to him...

Yep haha, it is definitely a mystery... We signed him on a free transfer, but who the hell recommended him to Poortvliet?! He was injured when we signed him as well...
