Arron Davies?

Bailey

Recommended Posts

Was he not a Youth team player/ apprentice with Saints before ??

He was. I remember seeing him play v Cov Reserves at Nuneaton back in 2004. Handy little player.

According to Wikipedia (so make of it what you will) Nottingham Forest released him on the 10th December. Free signing!?

This is rubbish and a photoshop with a fake website.

Go onto the website in the normal way and look and you will see that number 23 is Lloyd James.

Then why does the hot linked scrollable squad menu work?

Is the data on the OS fed from a central database, could one of the links be corrupted?

Go onto the OS in the normal way you would and look and you will see that number 23 is Lloyd James.

If you clicked on any of the players, he showed up in the list, next to Lloyd James.

It's now been taken down, which is definitely suspicious...

If it is a fake, someone has either uploaded it to the saintsfc.co.uk server, OR there is crossover between the Nottm Forest/Brighton official sites and ours, seeing as they use the same provider, which would be my best bet.

That said, you never know.

It only happens if you follow the link in the OP.

If you go to the OS in the normal way you would. Arron Davies is not there.

There was nothing in that link that could make the saints site insert data into a player profile page. They've taken the page down, even if you follow the original link, so there really isn't anyway that it could have been a fake.

But why does it only show with the link the OP used?

Go to the squad page using this as a starting point...

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/Home

...and Davies won't be there.

So how did the OP find the link?

That I don't know, only Bailey does.

Plenty of websites have 'live' pages that aren't directly linked from within the publicly visible site, but exist so that people can navigate to them if given the direct URL. Or, as seems to be the case, new/modified pages being edited, before a link to it goes live.

Why would I photoshop it? In all honesty, I have no idea how to even use that software, yet alone mock something up like that!

I just noticed it whilst looking through the 'Player Profile' section on the OS earlier on today.

I'm guessing it's just an honest mistake from those running the site, nothing more than that. Still, a bit weird none the less.

How can you possibly have a link whose underlying URL is completely correct (in terms of it's domain) that can take you to a spoofed web page created with photoshop? You could only do that if you have the ability to insert the spoof page on the domains host. I seem to remember you shouting "fake" on another thread and then having to back pedal.
