Block 5 Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 There were 20,446 people at SMS yesterday. It was the 5th highest attendance out of the 14 FA Cup fixtures played. We had a bigger gate than Bolton, Cardiff, Derby, Poopey, Reading, West Brom and Wolves. We had nearly double Poopey's attendance (10,315). That equates to a revenue of approx £350,000 which we would have split 50/50 with Ipswich. That means we earned £175,000 (before deductions) which would have just about paid for Lee Barnard in full. Tokyo-Saint Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Ipswich must have been glad they got us for a big pay day

Add the prize money for getting past the tie and it pays his wages for a fair while too
andybeal Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Wrong - the FA take 1/3 of the gate receipts
John B Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Wrong - the FA take 1/3 of the gate receipts Plus there is VAT to be paid as well
Block 5 Posted 24 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Also, bear in mind that yesterday's income was additional revenue from a cup game that would not have been factored into pre-season forecasts (like all cup games). BONUS!
Block 5 Posted 24 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Plus there is VAT to be paid as well Fair points, can't forget the tax man and the Lancaster gate money grabbers.... So, £100,000 ish plus the prize money still = Lee Barnard.

Block 5 Posted 24 January, 2010 Author Share Posted 24 January, 2010 And police and other matchday costs £15,000 ish perhaps? I would be interested to know what an average game costs us. Plus we must make additional money from the concourse franchises and of course the Mega store would make more money, especially when we win. I think that we can safely say yesterday paid for Lee B, give or take a few ££s.
Tamesaint Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 The FA do not take one third. They take 10%. The gate is shared after deducting all the costs - police, stewards, VAT etc etc. So I think,as the OP states, we definitely made enough yesterday to pay for Lee B. Turkish Posted 24 January, 2010 Share Posted 24 January, 2010 Bunch f whinging c*nts, it's a nice bonus and next round we will get another nice bonus, all good. Anyone added in the programme sales, beer sales, pie sales???? what about the printing cost of tickets, cleaners for after the game, cost of electricity for lighting around the stadium and the PA announcers, and the free tickets given out for the half time half time "entertainment", photogropher for the match day programme needs to be paid as would have been working yesterday and i also wonder if the TV's in the concourses have been paid for yet or are they rented with a weekly cost of 20p each. Factor all these things and you have figure a lot lower than your initial estimate saintkipttanui, in fact its a wonder we broken even with all those outgoings. Next time you try to make a point make sure you factor in EVERY possible equation and give us a figure to the nearest £1 or you will be shown of up the ignoramous that you clearly are.
