SamKimish Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 (One for the anoraks by the way) After saving yet another penalty against Brentford, it got me wondering... how many penalty saves has Davis made for Saints and what is his miss/save ratio when it comes to penalties? Spades Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 why did he look so hopeless at saving them vs derby?
LGTL Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Probably because he wasn't in goal against Derby.

david in sweden Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 (One for the anoraks by the way) After saving yet another penalty against Brentford, it got me wondering... how many penalty saves has Davis made for Saints and what is his miss/save ratio when it comes to penalties? my rough counts says FOUR saves v. Millwall (h) v. Huddf'd (a) v. Norwich (h) and Brentford (a) He conceded one v. Exeter JPS might be others I 'm not aware of though:confused:

Huffton Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 So where are all the muppets who were calling for his head two years ago? Theyre still around, they just lie low a bit when they've got nothing to complain about
fareham saint phil Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 The main thing about this penalty was that it was a decent one and he had to "make a save". You just have to be impressed by him this season, maybe the renewed competition from Bart has made him up his game even more.
eesti matty Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 I remember watching ITV in the mid nineties. Luton were playing Watford and Davis saved a penalty (I think it was his debut or one of his first senior game).
DT Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 So where are all the muppets who were calling for his head two years ago? I'm still here and still believe that although he's a good shot stopper, his inability to come for crosses and general lack of dominance beyond the six yard box destabilises the whole defence and leads to untold problems. And I stick by that. I'd love us to get a new keeper. Sorry to disappoint.
saintrich Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 He has come to be a bit of a success when saving penalties, although sometimes he parries them straight back to the kicker...
