Saint Charlie Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 (edited) Im guessing we played a youth team? They had a decent load of first teamers and also BWP. Edited 27 January, 2010 by Saint Charlie
krissyboy31 Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 Argyle: Lloyd Saxton; David McNamee, Ryan Leonard, Chris Barker, Damien McCrory; Yala Bolasie, Sean Kinsella, Alan Gow, Craig Noone; Bradley Wright-Phillips, Joe Mason. Substitutes: Ollie Chenoweth (gk), George Donnelly, Liam Head, Connor Clifford, Jordan Trott. BWP probably scored all seven.

Saints67 Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 Argyle reserves beat bournemouth 9-1 in September. Still not good that our Reserves get spanked 0-7 though. I wonder if Tommy Forecast was in goal?
Simon_UK Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 I gave up ay 5-0 down and came home to the warm to watch the Manchester Derby It was men against boys, a pretty young and inexperienced reserve side just couldn't handle the much stronger plymouth team, BWP had not scored any of the first 5 when I left

Saint_clark Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 Notice George Donnelly on the bench for them, obviously didn't impress Pardew.
saintsforlife7 Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 Mason got a hat trick, BWP got one, Noone got two(very impressive) and Head scored a late tap in. We offered nothing up top to stick too with Saga and Pato gone, they on the other hand had plenty f options, with Noone and Gow particulary impressing. Interesting to see Paul Mariner there! I saw Craig Noone play on loan at Exeter..Left side Winger..very impressive.. Plymouth took him back early re injuries even though Exeter wanted to keep him....One for the future.....Puncheon is farther ahead than Noone. Mr X Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 maybe the result was agreed as part of the puncheon deal that may or may not be happening
VectisSaint Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 I wonder if Tommy Forecast was in goal? He was, not to mention Olly Lancashire as CB. Still, could have been worse, Pulis did not make the team, nor Molyneux. With such a huge squad these players don't even get a reserve game. Forecast, Argent (Holder-Spooner 28 ), Lancashire, Martin, Reeves, Boyle, Gobern (McNish 63), Gillett, McLaggon, Doble, White (Oxlade-Chamberlain). Actually worrying the amount of these that have got first team experience. I thought it was a bunch of kids when I heard the result.
ottery st mary Posted 27 January, 2010 Share Posted 27 January, 2010 As ever both Pulis and Moly have had injury problems.....Reason Pulis came back from Lincoln.... Plymouth had a very experienced side out.....To strong for some reason..... Saints had Olly , Martin, Reeves, White, Gobern (got injured) Argent, Gillett, McLaggon, Boyle, Doble, McNish Holder-Spooner Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cholmeley-Smythe (joke) So all in all not a mug Saints reserves but lightweight and injuries during game.. Not enough match days for some.. sorry Kriss you beat me to it...but the same setiment re our side...

Is it obligatory for League 1 teams to have a reserve side? None of the above will ever come to much, if they had any prospects AP wouldn't be throwing cash at anyone who has a pair of boots and isn't in our reserves. Not seen anything of Martin....Raw prospect allegedley......shame about McLaggon....I was told Argent, McNish were very good prospects as well....maybe some of the others....Reeves, Hoskins, Oxlade-Chamberlain (son of the old pro Chamberlain etc )are being bigged up.... With all the games coming up for our first team...any of these not getting a squad place.....the writting is almost on the wall... Playing for contracts in many of the above named reserves/youth..Hopefully some will come through with a little luck and skill..

I think trusting in youth was last season's fashion. We're on the "if he's good enough you have to pay money for him" wagon now. I thought McLaggon looked good last season.I thought we could have got him a better loan deal than Eastbourne Borough.
ottery st mary Posted 28 January, 2010 Share Posted 28 January, 2010 McLAGGON .. MAY well be an injury that has lost him a yard of pace/confidence...Will he be the same player again...Hope so..But as you say youth may be PUT on the back burner at the mo.. Whatever happens off loading will be order of the day..But more importantly a very good win and 3 points is definitely required on Saturday...
