Saints Academy vs Brighton

finished 0-0. I was hoping the strikers were banging them in, to give us options for the first team.

if we had any first team options in the development squad then I'm sure we'd be using them already.

If we can't sign a striker on loan by Saturday we'll have to start Guly and maybe push Puncheon up into the attack with Barney. Lambert is a waste of time right now and until that gets sorted out we'll keep on getting deceiving results like yesterday's.

The academy is Jason Dodd's under 18 side which players in the academy leagues.

This game against Brighton was Martin Hunter's development side(basically what used to be the reserves).

The two are very different things.

WC don't be daft. RL is going through a difficult time but last night he was very unlucky not to score. As soon as he does he will bang them in for fun again.

He needs some decent balls into him to feed off.

that would just be a waste of good scoring chances. We are where we are at the moment because of Lambert's inability to put the ball into the net despite a shedload of chances, he ends up on his arse most of the time anyway.I just can't see why we keep on picking him knowing full well that there will be no end product from him,he needs time in the reserves (or development side) to get his act together.

Guly got a chance last night, stuck it into the net first time, when Lambert starts doing that again he'll be of use to us.

well if he is in the reserves he won't be able to. MLT and all the other stars we have had, had dry periods. Fans knocking him won't help his confidence. The last 2 games I have seen RL he has been desperately unlucky not to score.Last night his shot that thundered against the bar was showing how his fortunes have changed. I never have thought that he was a centre forward that outjumps centre halves, but one with a brain who makes space and scores goals.Stop RL and you stop saints, that is what other teams know is the case.
