Just wanna say a very well done saints! Great run of form! Played brilliant today by the sounds of it! And I also wanna mention what a great effort huddersfield have done! And if we do get 2nd place i would like to see Huddersfield come up via play off's. Altho I'd like see bompey come up I'd have to say hudds well deserve it. Now let's have a cracking day next Saturday Coys......

Both teams are on a cracking run of form, shame one of us will go into the play-offs, but at least both teams are strong enough to make it through them if needs be. Saying that, I'd much rather we get second and Bournemouth some how fluked it through the play-offs

If we go up auto I'm rooting for Bompey in the play off as having Us, brighton, bompey and pompey all in the one league would be great close away matches plenty of spice (huge chips on shoulders)..........yes please.

As Bournemouth will have a huuuuuuge allocation of tickets for the final, but without fans to fill the seats, we could have a block or two set aside for Saints fans where we could go up and show our support for them and let them know how much we love them as they are so cutesy wootsy. ;)

Are we going to blow it?

We tried hard to do so for about 20 minutes in the second half today.

Why do I have a deep sense of foreboding?

Were be ok' we will draw Monday and win Saturday. That's my gut feeling! So come Saturday with an attendance of 32000 gonna be a smashing day out! Coys

Yep thats my feeling, I would kind of like it to go down to the last game (assuming we end up in 2nd at the end of it) becuase I think a sold out SMS will be rocking.

Have to say It will be a travesty if Brighton, Saints & hopefully Huddersfield through the play-offs don't get promotion. At present both Saints & hudders are 15-points clear of Bournemouth & whilst it would be nice to have 4 south-coast clubs in the NPC next year, Saints & Hudders both deserve it more.

Not only did we save their club with our bucket collections (they love it when we bring that up), but we got them promoted with our support too!

Oh yes definitely, please win Monday so we can enjoy the rest of the week. I don't want another 5 nervous days & a nail biting 90-mins thanks, because you just know Huddersfield will score 1st on Saturday!

You are so right with this. There needs to be a convincing Saints win on Monday to prevent serious damage to finger nails, blood pressure and stress levels amongst us. Good win today: should set us up nicely for Monday.

The Playoffs are a farce. Always have been! It's all about money. The purpose of a league is to test teams over a period of time. So why have a league if the team that finish 6th can be promoted over the team that finish 3rd? Over the course of a season the team in 3rd have proved that they're worthy of promotion. End of story!

I'm the world's biggest pessemist. I still think we'll end up finishing 3rd. When have Saints ever made things easy for themselves? I can see us losing or drawing on Monday and it'll all go down to the final day when we'll only manage a draw.

I hope I'm wrong. Over the years I've seen plenty of final day drama's and to be honest I've had enough of it. I just want promotion on Monday so that the pressure is off for the final day and we can all enjoy it. But my gut feeling is that it's going to the wire. :-(

As a long suffering fan and a card carrying pessimist, I also worry that we will blow it

Last night I had a vivid dream of a 1-0 defeat at Plymouth followed by a draw at home to Walsall leaving us to lose over two legs to Bournemouth.

Please dont let this happen!!

You also thought we'd only get four points from our last three games - now we've got three points from the first of those games. I'm sure you were certain we'd lose yesterday. Do you really think we'll only manage one point from the two games to come, or are you just adjusting your pessimism to suit the circumstances? I fully expect us to get six points from our remaining fixtures.

I reckon there will be 6 points between Brighton, Saints and Hudders. However there will be a massive gap between 3rd and Posh. In these situations, the play offs are totally unfair. That said we would have been quite happy to have gained promotion in 2007 should we have displaced cheating Derby.

Seeing as they haven't lost since December 28th and are still 3rd just shows how good Adkins has done here.

Not a dig at Nigel but he has the most expensivly assembeled team in league 1 (ever) with PL trainning and medical facilities, second was bare minimum this season (and we're not 100% there yet) rather than as massive achievement. Next season is when Nigels real work begins

Whilst the third team should logically win through the play offs it often isn't the case. Having said that I think whichever team doesn't go up automatically they will win the play offs.

It's often forgotten though that he started with quite a large handicap in terms of points, league position and player confidence.

No. Brentford was one game I expected us to win and a gut feeling said 3-0, so I was spot on with that one. However, I genuinely think we'll f*ck this up with 1 draw and one defeat in our last 2 games. I hope I'm wrong but years of following Saints has made me a real pessemist. How many times do we have to suffer last day cliffhangers? lol

Against that, how many times have we fecked up a last day cliffhanger?

However, my default setting is that if we do it we'll do it the hard way - whether that means going up on the last day or via play offs remains to be seen (not going up is unthinkable)

So you expected a win at Brentford all along, but just one point from the other two games? Fair enough, I'd assumed your four points prediction included a loss on Saturday! However, it strikes me that this side is solid and professional enough to do what's needed when it's needed. We've come from behind to win crucial games, we've won other crucial games very comfortably indeed. The team's focus and concentration on the task in hand has never wavered. Today we'll win again - roll on five o'clock!

Counting no chickens, but I definitely want Huddersfield to win the play-offs if we get promoted automatically. They deserve it, and I've been impressed with Lee Clarke's maturity (who I never really liked as a player), and their fans - having read their forums. Such a contrast to Poyet and the Brighton fans.

Yeah i've got to agree with that. I've been really impressed with the class of huddersfield fans as a bunch, there's no digging, jealousy or any of the other ******** a few clubs down here have come out with. They know they're a good side, we know we're a good side and there's a mutual respect shown between the two.

I agree. if not 2nd then up through the play offs. Nigel inherited a good set up and some decent players. His real work will begin next season. It will be interest to see the players he brings in. It will also be interesting to see how much money he is given to strengthen the squad.
