saintjay77 Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 According to Jordan Sibley. Ox in the squad perhaps?
benjii Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 I think he is naming a 40 man squad that will be slimmed later so I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ox is in the large squad. EDIT: Lallana is in it!

He has been put in as a forward too along with about 15 players by the looks of it!

EDIT: Lallana is in it! That would be for the game they have at SMS then. Don't know if he's still qualified for the Euro 2011 U21s, though, need to be under 21 when the competition started, can't remember when that was.Couple of years back I guess. LeBenali Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 He will almost certainly be in the final squad, personally it's through merit, but commercally it'll sell a fair few more tickets from us locals...

Nexstar Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 Think they were bound to pick somebody from our squad, well done to him though, he deserves it. He is 23 in a week too

benjii Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 fair play to pearce on SSN...talking alot of sense Absolutely. A welcome contrast from the usual carp spouted by the FA's employees.
Saint_lambden Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 Clever ploy to sell more tickets for the game at St Marys I should imagine, not that Adam doesn't deserve it. It'll be the full England squad within 3 years
Appy Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 Can't see him making the final 23. Fantastic for him though.

Matthew Le God Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 Chamberlain being injured didn't help his chances. However the under 20 World Cup is later this year and he may have a chance of being it that (although it clashes with the Football League season as it is in August). Well done to Adam Lallana! Matthew Le God Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 Well done to him getting into U21s at 22 :-S Why is that surprising? Would be daft if the rules excluded players that were able to play in the qualifying tournament from playing in the finals. It is "under 21's" from when the qualifying matches started, and Adam was under 21 at that point. Just like a 12 year old can play for an under 12's team in the Tyro Leagues in Southampton, but the UEFA under 21 tournament is over a 24 month period and not 12 months. SaintNeil90 Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 Well done to him getting into U21s at 22 :-S You have to be 21 or under at the start of the competition. Qualifying started in March 2009, when Lallana was 20.
sambosa75 Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 Perhaps the 40 man squad will all be at SMS but will be cut after for the Championships? For me, I'd have Lallana in there. He's played more competitive games than most of those and is versatile. Not a bad squad though. I'd go with a starting XI of: ----------------------------Loach--------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- Walker---------Smalling-----------------Jones-----------------Gibbs ------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------Rodwell---------Wilshere-----------Henderson----------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- Albrighton-------------------------------------------------Sturridge ------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------Carroll----------------------------------
Window Cleaner Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 You have to be 21 or under at the start of the competition. Qualifying started in March 2009, when Lallana was 20. So qualifiying started before the 2009 finals in Sweden?? Seems strange.
