A tad bizarre seeing is we ain't been officially confirmed as going up yet, don't yer think? Funny though! Up we merrily go! Not bizarre at all, they know that they're not going to make up a 17 goal difference in one match. We'd have done the same I expect, makes shifting the tickets a bit easier. Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2011 Share Posted 5 May, 2011 It's almost like they don't think they can do it. They only have to win 8-0 and see us suffer a similar home defeat to Walsall. not even then,we'd still go up by 1 goal on GD,think we've scored more as well. sotonist Posted 5 May, 2011 Share Posted 5 May, 2011 not even then,we'd still go up by 1 goal on GD,think we've scored more as well. if they draw equal on goal difference by scoring 10 or more they'll have equalled or bettered our goals scored. Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2011 Share Posted 5 May, 2011 if they draw equal on goal difference by scoring 10 or more they'll have equalled or bettered our goals scored. Purely academic as we won't lose to Walsall by 7.

NickG Posted 5 May, 2011 Share Posted 5 May, 2011 Their record league victory was 10-1 in 1930. If they match that and we go and lose 0-8 they are going to get it. Fortunately in the 18 home games since Adkins arrived we have only let in 6 goals, and Wallsall are the 2nd lowest away scorers in the league! saint si Posted 5 May, 2011 Share Posted 5 May, 2011 Makes sense for them to prep their players for the playoffs... psychologically and physically... forget the last league game and focus on the 3 that will make or break their season. Wouldn't be surprised to see them field a weakened team on Saturday.

1976_Child Posted 5 May, 2011 Author Share Posted 5 May, 2011 He can rest players ahead of the play offs, makes sense. I guess he can because Brentford have nothing to gain or lose. We though should owe it to the league to be as competitive as possible as Walsall is still 'in play'

Their game is a dead rubber where as ours can directly effect the relegation positions.

That would take it to a play-off both would have scored 83 and conceded 45.

Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2011 Share Posted 5 May, 2011 Doubt it, the original figure of 6 isn't right, Swindon scored at SMS,so did Oldham,2 Brentford,2 MK Dons,1 Huddersfield I'm sure that there are others. Saints have concede 12 at home this season in the league, 1 on opening day, 1 against Orient I think. The others are down to NA's reign.

If worst case happens I will take money, buy Huddersfield and then put them out of business immediately! We will then be promoted right?

brmbrm Posted 5 May, 2011 Share Posted 5 May, 2011 Just put a tenner on this! If worst case happens I will take money, buy Huddersfield and then put them out of business immediately! We will then be promoted right? You, sir, are an idiot: put 5 of her majesty's finest pennies on and you stand to win £50,000,000, enough to buy Huddersield and indeed most of Yorshire one imagines. You have foolishly wagered £9.95. PLus William Hill don't have £10 billion quid to pay you, so they wold go bust and you would end up with a chain of bookies shops on your hands. And still you could have got it for a £1 stake! What a waste of £9!
