1976_Child Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 ..and we will have a long boring summer with no footeh. Personally, I am putting nose to grind stone to get some work done and pounds in bank. Got to get ST money and away day hotels/train fares saved up. What will others do to while away the closed-season blues?
Griffo Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 Nothing. My life is absolutely ****e without football at least once a week.
Nexstar Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 Not done nearly as many games in previous seasons as this, so it will be sad to see the back of it. Made worse by the fact i'm giving up my season ticket for university. Made sure i've got a little fund for away games though!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 Watch as we get linked with every player, ITKs, player spots outside SMS, takeover spec, players being sold, manager links, wait for fixture list, predict the future...... Boooom it's august and we start again!!!

doddisalegend Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 Try and save some more money for my next season ticket. Spend more time with the wife at weekends, I'm pretty sure she already has a list of DIY jobs lined up for the summer.

Its actually simpler than you might expect, just tell her you arent doing any diy for a while and dont specify a timeframe. Its worked for me since christmas. cryoman1965 Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 I need to earn a large amount of brownie points with DIY and other boring stuff as i have taken the **** (so she says) this season. There is already a large list of things that require attention around the house. i used to enjoy DIY but over the last few years it bores the **** out of me and I am dreading the closed season, although the tranfer gossip and speculation will hopefully see me through. Sit down and take a close look at whether they could do with being done, or whether they actually need to be done to facilitate your survival. You'll be surprised at what you can avoid, and every job you do around the place leads to another five being added to the list. We had six months of building work done last year, which meant a shedload of shifting stuff around, making good and decorating, and I'm f*cking sick of it. I told the wife after christmas that I'm not doing any more for a while, and it seems to have stuck. Dont buy anything for future projects either. Dr Who? Posted 6 May, 2011 Share Posted 6 May, 2011 Close season is a double wammy for me, not football on Saturdays and no reffing on Sunday's. So I miss out on my complete football fix. I will be looking for as much as possible to get my finances back on track, and then buying the new kit (have to treat yourself sometimes), and then the fixture list. I really want to get to more games next season but will depend again on the old finances!! I will keep myself busy though, and go out with the family more. I heard that one of them went to the San Siro on his cut a couple of weeks ago. Didn't even send us a measly postcard.

Just don't bother with the whole women/marriage thing. My flat is a complete dump. Haven't hovered in months and if I stand still in the kitchen for too long my feet get welded to the floor by years of guk and grime. The only thing I dust is the 40 inch plasma and the framed picture of SMS when we last beat the skates. The bog gets a squirt of bleach once a month and when the mildew reaches the tooth brush on the basin I drag a damp cloth around to get rid of the worst. Bed sheets are done every other month. Can you imagine that change in habits if I was hitched. My advice to all single men. Stay single and pee all over the floor if you want.
