Saints boy in Leeds Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Just seen on sky sports app that Joleon Lescott fears for his chance of a World Cup place due to lack of game time, I for one would snap him up, but for no more than 4 - 5 million and around 40k a week. seems serious about a move and I know Everton connection but would be just what we need IMO. Thoughts ?
Barry Sanchez Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Lescott would be superb, a brilliant signing but I think he would go to a side higher up than us but would love to have him.

Thoughts ? No chance we'd get him for that price. That'd be less than half his wage for a start.
Minsk Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Would love him to come to us. Exactly the player we need alongside Maya. However, I sincerely doubt will sign him. He will go to a bigger (and expected to finish next season higher) club than us. Probably Spuds, Arsenal or Everton.
SaintBobby Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 He's on £120K a week or something mental. Forget it.

Saint Garrett Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Everton probably. We can't afford his 120k wage
VectisSaint Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Well he's not going to come to us to boost his England chances is he? Woy doesn't know where St Mary's is, either that or doesn't come along because NC makes him pay for a ticket. Would actually be a good signing, but somewhat unlikely in my opinion. CanadaSaint Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 I would be shocked if we didn't go to the continent for a quality central defender in the Summer. Pochettino will want someone capable of playing it out accurately and creatively from the back. IMO Lescott doesn't fit that bill much more than Jos. pingwing Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Don't think his forehead will look good in our current kit sadly.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Everton probably. We can't afford his 120k wage £120k a week is a hell of a lot of money to pay any player - especially a defender middling quality. But why anybody on here should think that Everton of all clubs have much more money to spend than we do is quite another matter.
sandwichsaint Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Everton probably. We can't afford his 120k wage Oxymoron.
krissyboy31 Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Think only Man City would pay him that, so unless he's prepared to take a substantial pay cut he won't be going anywhere.
IOWSaintDaz Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Probably go to Arsenal as they are the only ones who need a) need a defender of his standard and b) have the money to afford his inflated wages Remember he walked out on Everton (much to Moyes' disgust)to chase the money at City like all there other signings do so can't see him moving back there as they just don't have the resources to make high profile signings any more, it take alot more managerial talent to find hungry talented players you can mould into great players than spend a fortune on Mercenaries, just look at Samba for example and all the City team
pangy Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 City would subsidise his wage no doubt, but you would still have to pay 60-70k a week I imagine just like they did with Adebayor
BadgerBadger Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Even if we could afford him on that wedge I wouldn't be happy if we did plus it's not our bag to pay over inflated wages.
pangy Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Especially as next season we should be able to attract a decent calibre of cb from abroad
