Viking Warrior Posted 25 August, 2013 Share Posted 25 August, 2013 Ouch . There's heel blister patches you can buy in boots, Tescos etc . You will find them helpful . Iodine will work if you have lots if applications . Same with meths . But the first few applications will hurt like hell and i mean hell . So bite on a stick if you go down that route

mcjwills Posted 25 August, 2013 Share Posted 25 August, 2013 Wear 2 pairs of socks tomorrow as the outer ones will take the rubbing and they inner ones will stay still, thus not increasing the irritation on the blister.

Bearsy Posted 25 August, 2013 Share Posted 25 August, 2013 In future smirks, douse ur plates o meat in anti-perspirant first. This reduces risk of getting blisters cos blisters is caused by ur toxic foot sweats or something.

Viking Warrior Posted 25 August, 2013 Share Posted 25 August, 2013 Zinc tape will help . If you use enough iodine yes you could run tomorrow along with zinc oxide tape . Goe to supermarket and get something like compeed or a similar hydrocolliod dressing.

bridge too far Posted 25 August, 2013 Share Posted 25 August, 2013 For future reference: Bathe your feet in white spirit and soak them for about half an hour in strong black (cool) tea - that's what dancers do and, believe me, not many people have feet as tough as dancers! If you can somehow tape it to your heel before you put your sock on, try taping lambs wool to the affected area
Smirking_Saint Posted 25 August, 2013 Author Share Posted 25 August, 2013 You should be fine with that. Starting to feel my age Monk me old mucker, tight hamstrings, tight calves, bruises all up my shins, dead thigh. The blister was just the iceing on the cake. I need to stop playing the box to box midfielder role I think, perhaps talk my manager into making me a lazy CF or something. Cheers for all the advice guys, people keep telling me to pee on it !! The9 Posted 26 August, 2013 Share Posted 26 August, 2013 The one about surgical spirit works, if you rub it onto your feet before the match it reduce blistering (as well as sterilising it), and if you already have blisters, whip the dead skin off, rub some of that on it (burns like hell) and it seems to harden much quicker, I had some huge blisters build a new hard skin within a day just by putting surgical spirit on them, really handy on rock hard pitches with midweek games early and late in the season.
