Lyon's loss is our gain. I'm massively impressed by Fonte's improvement this season but another signing at CB of Lovren's ilk would make for a stunning back four. I remember reading on other teams' forums about how poor he had been in the last two seasons prior to joining Saints. This was often the reason for those other teams not going for him. Tommy Mulgrew Posted 28 January, 2014 Share Posted 28 January, 2014 Earlier this week, Mourinho mentioned Lovren's absence from the forthcoming Arsenal game when ridiculing Wenger's criticism of Mata's transfer as unfair - M was effectively saying that Lovren's absence was as critical to us as Mata's to MU. So that's a top-level EPL endorsement of Lovren's class, not that we really need it. In terms of supporting Saints, I was brought up on McGrath and to then today is no comparison at all!
