On the cards for months

We had the manager questioning the board

Then one by one the players

Cortese quit and later came out and said people are going

We are about to see a break up that to a scale not seen at the top flight. Not for a team that finished comfortably 8th in the league

It's not like we struggled to 17th

Surely, these moves have been going on in the back ground for months

Then we had reed saying he was comfortable with everything

And Ralph spouting all sorts of bull**** just in the last few days

All the clues have been there for a while.

Too many unsettled players and a willingness for the board not to stand in anyones way. You have to wonder what the board think we can achieve out of it all if it isn't about money.

Even if they are thinking lets cash in on these 5-6 players while they are at their peak value and use the funds to strengthen the squad overall, I feel they are hopelessly misguided. The turnaround of players is going to be so huge that we'll really struggle to get any cohesion going at the start of the season and could well be the sort of situation that Sunderland found themselves in last year. Lots saying it is decent business, but you can't underestimate the talismanic qualities of someone like Lambert - why sell that off for a mere £4m?

Also, what calibre of player is going to want to actually join us if we are just flogging off the best assets? If we do sell off Lambert, we'd need to get in a decent replacement ASAP to halt the exodus, but with no manager in place, what hope do we have? It's a complete farce.

Agree, first and fore most we have to do what's right for the club, selling off your influencial players and changing a manager in a summer would be too much to handle for most clubs. I fully expected us to lose one or two but if we allow more to leave, next season won't be pretty.

It would just all be needless really.

I get Lambert is 32, but you can't replace a player of his quality for £4m.

According to the BBC though, he was intent on leaving this summer anyway. It's looking more and more like the summer is going to be filled with bad news.

what a bunch of c**ks you lot are. Boo Hooo Hooo......manager leaves (Board could do nothing), player in twilight of his career leaves to boyhood club (4 million for a 32 year old is quite amazing) and makes clear he wants to go.

Why don't you all just wait and see what happens before throwing yourselves off a cliff.......but there again, perhaps thats the best thing for you all?

Bunch of pussies

I suspect we'll be looking at the Championship in a year's time. You don't change half the team and expect to survive at Saints level.

FFS I despair sometimes. Nobody has left, nothing has changed, until we know for definite why not just stop p**sing the bed and take your head out of the oven.

Boo Hooo Hooo......manager leaves (Board could do nothing), player in twilight of his career leaves to boyhood club (4 million for a 32 year old is quite amazing) captain and best CB goes to same club, best potential LB in the league leaves, best striker goes to same club as manager, other notable players move or express anger.and all make clear they want to go.

Why don't you all just wait and see what happens before throwing yourselves off a cliff.......but there again, perhaps thats the best thing for you all?

You are right nothing to be concerned about and thankfully the board have issued a statement to confirm that we will be negotiating transactions in and out. jolly good.
