Arizona Posted 22 January, 2009 Share Posted 22 January, 2009 Haven't seen a thread on this yet. I'd personally go with: Davis James - Perry - Size - Molyneux Lallana - MS - Euell - Skacel Saganowski - BWP

Benj540 Posted 22 January, 2009 Share Posted 22 January, 2009 I would like to go with a 4-4-2 something like; Davis James - Perry/Lancashire - Saeijs - Skacel/Molyneaux McLaggon/Mcgoldrick - Schneiderlin - Gillett - Holmes Saganowski - Mcgoldrick/Wright-Phillips Subs: Biakowlski, Lallana, Wotton, Patterson, Smith If someone can get it through to Mr. Lallana that when he is asked to play wide, it genuinly means please can you please wide, then I'd be happy to swap him with the player on the right side of midfield. Also I think Surman is suspended for this game?
S4INT Posted 22 January, 2009 Share Posted 22 January, 2009 Davis James-Perry-Saeijs-Molyneaux Homes-Gillet-Schneiderlin-Skacel Lallana Saganowski Subs: Bialkowski, BWP, McKlaggon, Gobern, Smith We can't play with two central attacking midfielders otherwise the back four are totally exposed, I rate Gillett to fill the role of defensive midfielder that I think we need. AlfredKo Posted 22 January, 2009 Share Posted 22 January, 2009 Davis James Perry Saeijs Molyneaux Euell Schneiderlin Lallana BWP/ Ryan Smith Saganowski Skacel Two seasons ago we did the double against Norwich Last season they did the double This season it is the time to do the double over them!!! Andy_Porter Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 (edited) --------- Davis James Perry Saeijs Skacel ---- Morgan Gillett McLaggon Lallana Holmes --------- Saga Bart, Lancashire, Smith, Euell and McGoldrick No point playing 4-4-2 away when the 4-2-3-1 has brought us a fair amount of success on our travels, McGoldrick is unfortunate to miss out but I think he could do with a rest and Lallana is a better player in the hole and the better choice away from home. McLaggon starting to give us some pace, think he will stretch teams more than BWP. Edited 23 January, 2009 by Andy_Porter
Tom28 Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 Davis James Perry Saeijs Molyneaux Smith Schneiderlin Wotton Holmes Lallana Saga Bench: Bart DMG Skacel McLaggon Euell Hate to say it, but with our home form as dismal as it is, our best chance for points is away from home against teams at the bottom - this is a must win game. The cliche goes 'you have to win your games' - well, we HAVE to win this Saturday - a draw isn't good enough.
krissyboy31 Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 That side looks good to me the best we have right now. McGoldrick will not be dropped though :-( Agreed! If I were picking the team (from what we've got) that would be it. However, as you say, DMcG will not be dropped.
david in sweden Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 Haven't seen a thread on this yet. I'd personally go with: Davis James - Perry - Size - Molyneux Lallana - MS - Euell - Skacel Saganowski - BWP ......even from this distance, it looks good...except McG has more shots /goals than anyone else in the side. I dread saying he is the in -form player, but he's got most goals. I'd certainly play BWP (as a sub.) 75% of his goals last season came when coming on as change player in the second half. We've got a bit more guts up front with Saga, and I agree, as long as we still have Euell and Skacel we must play them. Either of them has more experience than most of the current midfield put together.

If he played all of every League game this season, and lets face it, he's going to come close, he will manage a grand total of 8.5 goals. I'd expect someone like Rasiak or Saganowski to be hitting 20 with that kind of time on the pitch.

Window Cleaner Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 I've read on the BBC today that the players wanted Brynn Gunn as their manager. That will end in tears, told you they would appoint a complete non-entity. He was a crap keeper, he'll be a crap manager-well just next tuesday for a start. Wotton is a bit of a crude hacker though, need to drop down another division for his type of football to be acceptable. Seth Johnson , good player, money went to his head though, got into gambling or something didn't he (don't they all) I fact real badass players who have a modicum of talent are now few and far between, which is why Utd and Liverpool pay fortunes for blokes like Vidic and Scholes still gets a game at his advanced age. egreog Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 Doesn't matter which players take the field, with the exception of KD they will not have the passion to beat a Norwich team with a new manager........Norwich odds on...... but still a good bet! Window Cleaner Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 Oh, what i'd give to have Safri back..... He wanted to leave,a little bird told me he was openly setting up a move to the Gulf even last January at the African Nations Cup. He was talking to anyone with a silver dollar and a team in any hotel in wherever it was. In fact after their opening day victory most of Morocco's squad were doing that and only that. Nick65 Posted 23 January, 2009 Share Posted 23 January, 2009 Isn't there a decent right-back we can get in on loan from somewhere ? Lloyd James used to be good abrasive midfielder for the youth team - shame we can't seem to play him in his best position.
