LiberalCommunist Posted March 4 Posted March 4 (edited) Doucoure's handball, and the off side goal in the league cup final against Utd come about years apart. And for this, we have implemented a system that confuses already fairly incompetent officials, ruins the match day experience, and now seemingly chooses when not to interfere. Madness. Bin it off. Its shit. Edited March 4 by LiberalCommunist

LiberalCommunist Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Gabi was denied a hattrick in a cup final because of incompetence. And what do we get, even more incompetence. VAR is still driven by human subjection. They still decide what to look at, and the angle, to seemingly confirm their decisions. What we now see in our seats, they can take five minutes to ponder, and still get it wrong. It's a busted flush. Bin it.
Oisin Posted March 5 Posted March 5 My twopenneth - and a bit random VAR - one review each half, captain to call it, keep review of its upheld. That’s it. Indirect free kicks for accidental handball. Stop the insane penalty awards And that’s probably it on the proviso that there is a directive to refs for zero tolerance. There are already rules for excessive time-wasting, time taken on gk clearances, man-handling at corners, dissent, ungentlemanly conduct, retreating 10 yards, only captains able to speak to the officials. They’re all there - refs just need to enforce it. Back in the real world …
Kenilworthy1959 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 VAR should have been suspended the moment in 2019 when Mike Read didn't send Anthony Taylor to the monitor to check a foul because "he's a mate". 1
skintsaint Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Lets hope this new intepretation of the offside rule isn't brought in....VAR delays & decisions will increase ten fold... https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/OGc5WR6baU

I’ve only seen it 3 times and all 3 have been us. Maybe we’re just really slow but feels like another rule refs mostly can’t be bothered to enforce.
Saints4Prem Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Our throw ins have been laughable for years, even when we had Delap we couldn't score from his throws like Stoke did. We take too much time and have very little in the way of outlets. Perhaps a 'Throw in' coach would be the answer ? 1
