LoyalSaintSO50 Posted Friday at 20:40 Posted Friday at 20:40 No time for feeling sorry for ourselves. Irrespective of this mess, let’s not forget those who have relished attacking our club with the intent of causing maximum damage. Add to the names below but I’ll open the bidding with: Charlie Austin Henry Winter Troy Deeney Jason Taylor Lol even that mess Piers Morgan Only bonus in this has been the skates, as always, hilariously desperate to be noticed and loved by any clubs having a pop at us. Constantly on their knees to strangers… gone from ‘blues’ to be now be known as the ‘Bonnie Blues’. Never forget 2

miltonroad Posted Friday at 20:57 Posted Friday at 20:57 I’ll second Corden and raise you David Winnie, impartiality never in doubt. Disgrace.
LegalEagle Posted Friday at 22:41 Posted Friday at 22:41 Henry Winter is the most disappointing. This was someone who I actually thought was ok. His level of hypocrisy compared to the comments he made after Leeds did this (but even worse) is startling. A level of bias, hypocrisy, Starmeresque U turning and just lack of impartiality sticks him right in the gutter. He’s an embarrassment to his profession and that’s saying something. Remove Troy Deeney from that list. Don’t give him any air time or exposure. 3

But rule or no rule, why was Bielsa's attempt 'flawed genius' and someone capturing the hearts of 'English football' - yet when we've been caught, it's the worst thing any human being has ever done because we broke a new rule. It's not just been Winter, this has been the narrative across the media - and amazingly, even Leeds fans say that we deserve worse punishment than they had. Neither of us did good, it's dirty, unsportsmanlike crappy work, so count me confused as to why a 'rule' being in place or not dictates the harshness of the media response to the same crime. 7

I only know one Leeds fan, he messaged me immediately to say it was a harsh punishment and extend sympathies for it. Never had an issue with Leeds fans tbh, they were classy on the tube coming back from the 23/24 play off final as well. 1
St Chalet Posted Saturday at 20:52 Posted Saturday at 20:52 Yeah, used to enjoy Henry Winter. But i suspect his compass changed when his employment status changed. 2
markr27 Posted Saturday at 21:00 Posted Saturday at 21:00 Sam Matterface and Talksport's CHIEF football correspondent Alex Crook. 1
St Chalet Posted Saturday at 21:03 Posted Saturday at 21:03 The one I don't get is Charlie Austin. I can't understand how he hates us, and I can't understand how we don't hate him for Fulham Away under Hughes. 1
Osvaldorama Posted Saturday at 21:04 Posted Saturday at 21:04 Fuck the lot of them Seeing Boro bottle it in extra time has cheered me right up. Rebuild and go again. Club owes us autos next season so it’s not in doubt 1

That skate cunt Matterface has never liked us anyway having worked on Skate FM back in the day, poor bloke is living in perpetual sadness for having a bird like Natalie Sawyer and losing her. Clueless Crooks dislike of us probably stems from when he wrote for The Athletic and was consistently wrong about anything Saints related and got pelters from our fans for it. 3

Hoedt was also absolutely horrific in that Fulham defeat. Charlie is a rent-a-gob, caused loads of trouble at Swindon first time around I gather. 1

I will never forget when Alex "Crooky" Crooks was publicly adamant that Austin was NOT signing for saints, only for his arrival to be confirmed by the club that same evening. Crooky was ridiculed by so many at the time. How he is a daily fixture on a big radio station is remarkable. 1 3

Or when he claimed Ings and Bertrand were about to sign long term contracts and Martin Semmens came out and said it’s a load of bollocks and Crook didn’t have a clue despite living locally. 2

S-Clarke Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Luke Edwards, North East reporter. In 2019: Quote More than that, Bielsa has won hearts and minds in Leeds. Even while admitting he had spied on every opposition teams training sessions earlier this year, Bielsa intrigued us. The confession felt right, it felt like he belonged, it felt like he had found the perfect English club. If anything, the whole spygate controversy endeared him to Leeds supporters even more. The win at all costs mentality tapped into something that had lay dormant for too long at the club.” Luke Edwards, North East reporter. In 2026: Quote EFL needs to act fast and expel cheating Southampton I will say one more thing on spygate before I go on holiday. I don’t blame William Salt. I genuinely feel sorry for him. Leave him alone and let him get on with his life and career. It’s not his fault and he’s been dragged through the mud in the name of Southampton football club. He was asked to do something he believed was part of his job. I’m incredibly sorry for Southampton supporters who had some joy in their life, who were proud of their club and the team for getting to the play off final. As fans we all know that feeling and why we cherish it and stick with our teams through thick and thin. Yes some reacted with defiant humour but see the world through someone else’s eyes and ask what would you have done? The blame for this scandal is not theirs. They wanted to believe in their club, their tribe and stayed loyal. That’s what fans do. I'm sorry, what...? How can the same crime recieve such striking differences in media response? Rule or no rule, it's the same fricking crime. 2
