OldNick Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Whilst Im against Adams stance on the current situation, Id be devastated if he left. He is a class commentator and does want the best for Saints. Adam and Jo is always a good listen. 1

Whilst I agree with your comment, I do wish they'd concentrate on the ongoing game they watch, and leave their old storylines for other occasions. It's not the first time (they) have missed a goal whilst blathering on about something much less interesting (and occasionally ) non-Saints. Interesting comment was from the legendary Kenneth Wolstenholme; .." a good commentator should say.. as little as possible and concentrate (on what's happening) in the game ."

If he can't or won't do that it's time he resigned and found himself a club that does zero cheating as that would seem more to his taste. He'll be looking for a long time. and if he did that there would be some accusing him of just being a kiss arse to the club and their mouth piece in the media. This is the point i made early, whatever they do some will complain. They've got to get the balance of reporting the facts, having their own opinion, whilst also keeping the club onside, it's a tough ask and as we can see, people will be critical whatever they do.

Agree with that. But there is a difference between balanced reporting and just repeatedly calling for the manager to be sacked for bullying junior staff as if its a fact, when in reality there is no evidence of that happening. 2

Dunno, there's a market for it but funny the other day when he was asked a question on another online channel I guess about something that was about Saints history and he got flustered and pulled someone else over, saying something like 'ask a real fan'... Pretty much summed him up for me. He's constantly trying to get sponsors and make this a full time job, I guess he wants to be the new Robbie from Arsenal TV, a bit sad really. I guess the EPL dream has really fucked that up now. And I'm obliged to say that he doesn't eat babies.... apparently. That's harsh. I like his content and hid dad seems like a decent bloke as well, 1
manji Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I think there’s another reason some of the commentators don’t like Tonda. He’s not a cheeky chappy having a bit of banter with Adam Blackmore . I reckon Sky and Talksport wouldn’t like him the EPL he’s no fun they’d rather have another Harry Redknapp or Sean Dyche a bit of banter give the a good story. 4

It's like he's deliberately trying to get the club (and fanbase?) to turn on him? He seems to get joy out of saints having bad managers, so no surprise he's anti tonda 1

Not long ago he was being referred to as ‘Brownmore’ because it was perceived he wasn’t challenging the club sufficiently. Talk about walking a tightrope…. 3

But what he is doing right now is ignoring all the actual evidence to repeatedly push a negative narrative, hammer the club publicly, and specifically and directly attack the manage over bullying offences which are seemingly un-evidenced. If Blackmore wants to keep pushing this narrative he needs to back it up with actual evidence that shows it was Tonda, otherwise he needs to drop it. 1
mikeyc Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago Personally think we are very lucky to have Adam. Clearly gives a shit, has pretty much got the balance right for me in terms of challenging the club and managers - I recall some prickly interviews with Martin - and is a very good commentator. And Jo offers genuine insight for me. Going Home is a great show, win or lose. I haven’t entirely agreed with Adam on some of the things he’s said over the last few weeks, but respect his opinion. 2

There is evidence, not least Solak's stuff in his interview/statement about "well, the intern should have complained more". Not "it didn't happen" just blaming the intern for not complaining more loudly. I'm not sure what "actual evidence" you are looking for when the club admitted the wrong they've done, they haven't accused the intern of lying when he said to the investigation that he felt pressured and uncomfortable. There seems to be a group of people that have decided that because Solak and the club have gone through with their "fuck you, we're not sacking anyone" routine that it means the club did no wrong. Well, they did do wrong. It's not a "narrative" being pushed by Adam Blackmore.

Pilchards Posted 3 minutes ago Posted 3 minutes ago Another reason why commentators and interviewers don’t have a great liking to Eckert is because he has a touch of Alex Ferguson/Jose Mourinho about him. They become scared to ask questions in case it’s thrown back at them as them being dumb.
