Re Dobbin, I think the fee was £10.5 m, but I'm not sure how an inflated fee helped us given that we got fair money for THB.

That said, Villa have paid and received a lot of questionable fees over recent windows. £37.5m for that Maatsen lad from Chelsea, and Kellyman to Chelsea for £19m were eyebrow raising. Rogers going to Chelsea for £120m, and paying £50m for Jackson, equally so.
