Secret Site Agent Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago All, I don't normally do this but the catering overall outside at the Northam end not sure the change is for the best. The catering van is back, and the burgers were disgusting, I had a Bacon Burger that the bacon was extra crispy, the burger was burnt, the roll was stale, I queued for 30 mins so missed the beginning of the second half. I threw it away, and I don't normally throw food away. Didn't have time to go back and complain. Also, the automatic beer machines for the drink. It's fine if there are two of you drinking the same, But I'm a Cider man, and my nipper drinks lager, so you either queue up twice, or buy two drinks when you are there at a go, and I still had to queue up at the regular bar to get my grandson a drink. I'll tell you, it must be bad if I go on Social Media and moan. I have contacted the club, and I did last year and asked why we cant have the Kwackers van back. I'm not a great burger fan and prefer a proper hot dog, with a proper sausage but this option is taken away now unless I get one of the soggy ones inside. Anyone else have to put up with this sub-par crap? Rant over 1
Oh no Mick Mills Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago All the food and all the drink is overpriced crap served up by imbeciles. Best to avoid and make the club think again about what they're serving up and charging. 3
dsrdorset Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago This is one of my biggest bugbears about going to St Marys. When is it ever going to change for the better?? How can they not find staff that are capable of working a bar etc? It's a shambles, game after game after game. Did anyone go to the boxing match recently? Complete and utter shambles!! Queued 45mins for a drink. In comparison, going to the Utilita bowl is a much more pleasant experience. Still overpriced food & drink though 😁
Appy Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The only beer I’ll buy in there now is the craft beer at the back right of the Northam as you come in. Far better quality, you can actually go to the bar and pay and it’s not served by utter morons.

Pilchards Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Saw a guy reviewing catering at all the grounds on Facebook. St Mary’s was a shambles, think we got 1/10 and basically he said it was not fit enough to feed a pig. Personally not eaten at St Mary’s for 15 years now as I make sure I bring something to tie me over during the game.
suewhistle Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago To be honest I can't recall ever eating or even drinking at St. Mary's or The Dell for that matter. May have had a pint at some northern grounds, but at home I know the exact walking timings to my seat (via the loos) from most decent hostelries around the city (and a few not so good ones too)..

Give it to Ron Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago No we are stuck with £7:40 for Guinness up 50p a pint from last season so less beer drunk in ground for me. 1
Colinjb Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The times i've made it back to SMS recently, I've actually been very impressed by the options and how efficient it is now compared to when I had my season ticket 10 years ago. There will always been room for improvement in these kind of things though, it's mass market crap for swift preparation and consumption. It's never going to be high quality.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago My view is the offering is far better than plenty of aways, and the "experience" is pretty decent for a football ground. But it's not close to being as good as a pub! Food generally is poor, although I had a sausage roll last season and that was actually alright.

Agreed. 10 years ago in the itchen north you’d have to leave your seat up to 10 minutes before half time just to make sure you got served before the second half kicked off and that was for a warm flat “pint” of Carling or whatever other piss was on offer that season. Now you can pretty much watch the entire half, have a leisurely stroll into the Dell and have a cold pint of Peroni and somewhere nice to sit down and drink it. As for the food, it’s 2 hours in the afternoon, why do you need food for you gluttonous bastards, this isn’t America.
spyinthesky Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I have eaten only once at St Marys and it was below average but better than the old days at The Dell, which doesnt say much. My lad was hungry at HT on Saturday and went down to buy a Hot Dog from the Itchen Stand. He queued for 15 mins and then was told that Hot Dogs had run out, so he indulged in a packet of crisps. Perhaps the club could re-instate Mr R Lowe who was keen to make the catering at SMS world renown.😇

We go to chip shop and get medium pizza, chips and can for £8, or chicken wings or burger. Sit down if get early. Quakers we're told tgey are not needed anymore as Saints are going to do it themselves. Eastleigh and Winchester food and drink, bar great when get to championship and Prem the catering g goes down hill.
Ted Bates Statue Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 21 minutes ago, die Mannyschaft said: I've gone back to taking flask coffee Good luck bringing that in. On Saturday on my way in, I was informed by the steward that all bags will be banned in a few weeks unless you have a medical exemption certificate (and I assume drinks containers would be included, as they are usually the thing these environments latch onto first). The irony with all this is that they can't ban pockets, so there's still plenty of opportunity to find a workaround, but with zero water points inside it's a bit much to expect us to have to smuggle in tea or water with a hip flask. I'm not sure if the chap was severely misinformed, as this is incredibly draconian even by standards of places like Wembley or Spurs, and official policy on Southampton's website still states that an A4 bag is acceptable.
