He is not playing at the level he achieved last season and his desperation is showing, giving away a penalty last time out by hauling a player to the ground and resorting to shirt tugging on more than one occasion yesterday. What's going on there? He definitely needs to up his game not worthy of being a starter for me at the moment but what's the alternative?

(I've no idea, just curious) Distraction is included, and since the shot goes straight across him to Tolaj, he becomes an interference impacting on Peretz's ability to reposition and react to the subsequent shot.

Speaking of Beck, I'm a big fan of his two moody, atmospheric albums "Sea Change" and "Morning Phase". I just read in The Guardian that there is a third, trilogy-ending album about to be released. It's called "Ride Lonesome" and it gets a glowing review by Alex Petridis in The Guardian. Should be worth a listening--if you liked the previous two. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2026/sep/14/beck-ride-lonesome-review-stunning-end-to-the-heartache-trilogy-of-sea-change-and-morning-phase
LiberalCommunist Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago What a thoroughly enjoyable victory. Made all the more sweeter by the fact that I thought we'd lose this match. City have probably caused me more game anxiety that any other team over the last twenty years. The penultimate day of 2011, a chance of going six points clear at the top and securing a unbeaten at home calendar year record. Armed with a team of unbeatable winners, and they rock up and spoil the pre-arranged party. Since that day, they have held some weird hold over us. Even though we barely ever play them. No matter what our form, no matter how depleted their squad, they always get the better of us. In 2024 they destroyed another legendary unbeaten run. Its a fixture that just fills me with dread. Until now. That first 20 minutes surely ends the curse. How they didn't score I will never know. Some outstanding defending compiled with some big luck, and we ripped up the party pooper script for once and for all. Now, why am I dining out on this result three days later you ask? Well City play twice this week, both games at home, tonight against Lincoln & on Friday v's Watford. It will be really interesting to see how they fair. I thought they looked pretty sleek, and they will be around the play offs at the end of this season. If they go on to nab the points this week, they will be around the top three by Sat 3pm. We might well have just ended a curse, and fired up a useful rival.
davefizzy14 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Another fantastic win for us 😊 we were clinical, Cyle is so good, his first goal was sublime 😊 the second a good follow up from Prowsey's shot 😊 Matsuki with a sweet finish 😊 and Azaz after superb play from Mubama who bullied the defender and laid it across to Finn to finish 😊 Larin my MOTM 😊 closely followed by Schlotterbeck, Matsuki, Prowsey and Leo 😊 Peretz made a super save in the first half which was vital 😊 Schlotterbeck clearance off the line was top defending 😊 Bragg was so composed 😊 when he came on at half time for Flynn. Hopefully Flynn just had a knock and will be for Saturday. Edited 14 hours ago by davefizzy14
