Getting no love from coverage but clearly as always stated, good teams find a way to win when they aren't playing pretty. How often do good teams make their chances count and the better playing teams don't take advantage.  Well done Saints!

FT. No way does 4-1 reflect the pattern of the game, but the quality we have over them did the trick

Well well well! A resounding scoreline. A tight game. Bristol had too much time and space in and around our box for my liking, but only created one or two clear cut chances.

So 7th and without the -4 we would be 2nd on goal difference to West Ham.

Defence better without Stephens that’s for sure. I’m still of the opinion that Welington would be a better starter than Manning.

Funny that some thought we had a poor game, but I thought we controlled the game pretty well and they got lucky with their goal.

We were clinical today but as others have pointed out, we gave them far too much space in and around our box.

Taught them a lesson in clinical finishing second half. Lovely goals again. Azaz making his class tell, pleased for Matsuki getting a reward for all the hard work he puts in, and we’ve got the best striker in the league. 

Now to give Wrexham another hiding and things are looking good going into the break

Early days but we should be second on GD* so if we keep doing what we're doing we're well in the autos fight. It's still early in the season but it already looks like a Boro, West Ham, Wolves and Saints fight for top 2, but you'd expect Milwall up there and a more surprise package like Norwich, WBA, Stoke or Swansea too. 

Whatever happens we should be aiming for top 4 at the very least to make the play-off campaign easier, but with the quality we have we should be fighting for top 2. 

Of course what happens to Tonda could play a big part. I just hope that decision isn't made the week before the Skates game.

No, just thought I would share what I was told from someone at St Marys

Great result - if the plan was to allow them twice as many shots as us - get extremely lucky they didn't take any of four or five really good chances in the first half and beat them on the breakaway with some really calm, clinical finishes - then brilliant!

If that wasn't the plan then the game I watched was a much more even one, with Bristol City easily giving as good as they got and looking capable, even more likely to equalise and perhaps go on to win until Matsuki's goal.

He did have a relatively quiet game, but his threat in and around the box brings others into the game.  Slightly flattering result but the clinical finishing was the difference.   Matsuki justified his selection, he was busy all afternoon and his goal was well taken.    Two quality strikes from Larin.   JWP worked hard throughout - a typical game from him.   Peretz did some good things, especially when Bristol C. had control of the game for long periods.    Liked Mubama’s cameo, he showed strength, balance and touch to put one on a plate for Azaz.    Once again Schott. Held the defence together, and while Wood was ok, surely its time to find out whether Abbott is up to standard.   He deserves a chance to show whether he’s good enough to replace Wood/Stephens.
