Pancake Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/predictor/default.stm I know there have been discussions on other threads but I fancied having this in its own so we can see what we all think. After filling it all out, this is what I came out with: What do you get for the final table of the season?
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 We've only won 3 games on the trot mate. Maybe a tad optimistic at this point? I'd love you to be right though.
Pancake Posted 5 March, 2009 Author Share Posted 5 March, 2009 We've only won 3 games on the trot mate. Maybe a tad optimistic at this point? I'd love you to be right though. I honestly tried to put in what I thought the scores would be based on the current form and the first half of the season. I was rather shocked where we came out to be honest. Im thinking of asking a few chaps at work to do it for me to see what they come up with, I believe they are mainly Premierleague club fans, so shouldn't have too much bias. SaintBobby Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 Pancake, If you do honestly believe your predictions, I have a great money-making scheme for you. Saints are quoted at about 11/10 to be relegated, so you should be able to get not far off evens that we stay up, maybe 6/4 on. If you think we'll get 58 points, this is a fantastic bet. SaintDonkey Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 I reckon the bottom 8 will be Plymouth ----------53 Forest -------------52 Saints -------------51 Palace -------------50 Barnsley -----------49 Blackpool ----------45 Norwich -----------44 Charlton -----------38 Based purely on recent form
saintmatt Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 With a record of winning 6, drawing 2 and losing 4 of our remaining games,i had us finishing 16th and 7 points clear.. COYR!
SaintBobby Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 Actually, have just done it myself - and I'm a pessimist - I came up with us finishing 15th on 55 points with Blackpool (45pts), Barnsley (43) and Charlton (36) going down. How do you post ur predictor table here by the way? A simpel cut and paste doesn't seem to work...
sfc6mufc3 Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 Well I just filled this in and had us finishing 19th with Blackpool & Barnsley below us leaving Palace , Norwich & Charlton to be relegated. I based this on Palace's non- scoring run, but must have got a bit carried away.:smt017
St Landrew Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 (edited) It's not so much that Saints do well, but that there are at least 3 other teams who are going to struggle to put some significant points together for the rest of the season. Anyway, here's mine: Edited 5 March, 2009 by St Landrew
slickmick Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 (edited) Tried copy and pasteing and it came out wrong. Brum and Wolves play all the bottom teams each. saintstr1 Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 I took your advice and just did it myself so here goes:- 1 Reading 92points 2 Wolves 92 3 Cardiff 89 4 Birmingham 81 5 Swansea 80 6 Sheff U 78 13 Saints 57 22 Norwich 46 23 Blackpool 42 24 Chalton 36 We will see but I will certainly take us with anywhere around 54-58 points. Mine worked out very similar, Saints in 16th on 54 points with the following relegated: Blackpool 45 Barnsley 42 Charlton 38 I'd settle for that. Its an interesting exercise, I think what we sometimes forget is how many points the teams around us are taking off each other while we just relentlessly grind out victory after victory (oh yeh)
Big Bad Bob Posted 5 March, 2009 Share Posted 5 March, 2009 Feck me this is long and tedious but despite being pessimistic I have us out of the bottom 3 for the first time when we beat QPR 2-1 at home!!
