Bourne Valley Saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 Let's now hope that all the stayaways who have used Lowe as the excuse for not attending will show up for the remainder of the season and beyond. Perhaps if they'd turned up earlier we wouldn't be in this mess!! Chicken and egg situation.

Ron 09 Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 Following the departure of Lowe and Wilde - I'm returning to see Saints. I've just booked my two tickets on the telephone. The whole of the Itchen is sold out except the corners which they have now opened. The lady I spoke to said the sales were sluggish the last few days but today they are going flat out answering the phones. If only the two losers had gone a while ago. SW11_Saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 They've reduced prices to £15 for adults, £5 for concessions so surely it'll be a full house now? Good move imo - need to get behind the lads and show any potential buyers the massive potential of this club...

SW11_Saint Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 Those prices were reduced weeks ago weren't they? Maybe - was going by the new headline on the OS saying that "Saints have slashed ticket prices for this Saturdays crucial game against Charlton in a bid to pack out St. Mary's and roar the team to safety". Michelle Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 No corners as far as I've been told. Just got back from SMS, Northam completely sold out for Sat, closest is 39 or 5. 43 will not be opened. Managed to get seats we wanted for Palace and Burnley no problem. Free match ticket with home shirt offer is still on, just don't use it for this weekend as it's cheap tickets anyway! The game and the next 2 could be a complete sell out but no buyer in the next 24 days and I assume 3 clubs will be promoted from the conference at the end of the season. Regardless of what people thought of Lowe there is an air of celebration emanating from some fans which I can only assume is because they have no grasp of the gravity of the situation, are simply ignorant or so full of hatred they are pleased the club could die just to be rid of one man? I can't relate to these fans and the longer it takes to find a buyer the more concerned for this club's existence I will become. These are very sombre and sobering times and the celebatory like reaction from some quarters, even if you hated Lowe is frankly idiotic.

Far from it, I'm as down in the dumps at the moment as every other true Saints fan is & that is due to realising the threat on the club's existence. I was simply stating that the club must have sold more than 19.5k tickets otherwise i didn't think that they would consider opening the corners until a few thousand more had been sold. I think it's more a case of the fans rallying to spur the team on to a. avoid relegation and b. avoid oblivion. There will be a degree of relief about RL's departure, but mostly i feel a sense of excitement about seeing SMS full again and showing prospective buyers that we are a club worth saving. yorkie Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 I just tried to get ticket for Block 1 or Block 2 and I was told nothing available. Could not confirm if sold out or was not opening! So much for wanting customers! I'll leave it until tomorrow and see if I get any luck in Block 1 or Block 2 - but I would imagine this corner would be last to open. I was offered a ticket in the other corner - so lets hope that that gets sold out first. No bad blood between Saints and Charlton fans - police presence will be high anyway so why not open the Itchen North Corner?
Rebel Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 there are a lot of fans like me who don't got to every home game - but pick and choose depending on various things (girlfriend/holida/family stuff/work/etc) I've been to about half of the home games this season so far and bought tickets for a bunch of friends last week for the Charlton game - because for me it was a always going to be a 9 pointer! I've never had a season ticket but there are many season where I've been to every home game (doesn't make me a better fan then anyone else though) there will be lots of fans/supporters like me/us who will be probably decide to go on Saturday now - maybe because it might be there last chance to support saints or just maybe because they think there £15 might make a difference whoever they are (apart fropm Wilde and Lowe) they will be welcome by me - and if they've come back after staying away for whatever reason - I don't care - they are all Saints fans to me - and that is what matters I actually admire those people who have stayed away because of Lowe - they are stronger at dealing with an addiction than me (and you could argue at least they've got principles - and maybe it worked as he's gone now)

saints_is_the_south Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 So what is it lol? 19.5k, 24k or 26k? Say its 24k. At the moment there are just under 19 business hours until kick off. Taking account of block 43 being closed & there being a few hundred empty seats in Charlton's section i reckon there must be about 6.5k tickets left. Thats only 342 tickets to shift an hour. A full house should be a real possibility, not forgetting online sales either.
