CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 10 April, 2009 Share Posted 10 April, 2009 Poole Town v Saints would be extremely convenient 'away' game for some of us . On a more serious note the reintroduction of regional leagues might well be the way forward for cash strapped lower league clubs .

hugh Posted 10 April, 2009 Share Posted 10 April, 2009 I used to live just around the corner from the Brockenhurst ground and remember seeing Stevie Williams playing there for Saints 'A'. Bit of a sobering thought, but Wimbledon have done really well, so far and Scarborough are setting off along a similar route. It may be years, but those clubs will prosper, because they are founded on a solid base by fans. They have just got to beware that they don't let 'businessmen' in the back door. um pahars Posted 11 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Your really are one hell of a happy soul... Gallows humour fella!!!!! Walking to the Charlton match, a few of us were discussing this possibility and tried to imagine what an away game at Cowes or Newport would be like!!! We reckoned 500 away tickets, but a couple of thousand just going over for the pss up and fun. Couldn't believe we would still be playing at SMS in that division, so imagined we'd be groundsharing with Eastleigh or maybe someone on the outskirts of the city like VT, Queens Keep or Totton. Or maybe develop something at Test Park, Five Acres, Green Park, the Veracity Ground LOL, etc etc etc
