Justin C Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 I agree, if we keep him and Saj then we have a good start to our backline with James as well.

Saint Fen Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 Kelvin Davis has been absolutely superb this season, I'm sure every Saints fan will love to see him in goal next season. Deserves every bit of praise that comes his way. Great double save again today from the one on one. Last season and the season before plenty of people gave him stick and its brilliant how he has kept going and changed people's minds.

Teddy Nutkins Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 I rea.lly hope you are about next season Kelvin, again today you showed what a class act you are. I hope you kicked Lloyd James ,in a suitably painful area for slipping over on the half way line.

I hope you kicked Lloyd James ,in a suitably painful area for slipping over on the half way line. Halfway line? Don't think so - and as I said on another thread, he was actually left of the goalmouth, and was covering Surman's behind. Anyway, KD was a hero today, as always, pulled off some amazing saves - hope they go up on youtube because they were worth seeing over and over again. What a bloke. STAY, please. Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 Yep, he has won me over..and you only have to see from his appearance in the program, from both the sporting dinner and his column how much I am sure he would love to stay.. I just fear that other forces will be the ones that dictate where he plays next year..Perry commented on Solent that one of the things kelvin said during his huddle that it was probably going to be the last time a lot of them played together at St Mary's...I think he really would stay if he could..... SoccerMom Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 Ah, well, maybe you're right - not always easy to tell distances from the corner. I just remember thinking, "Prat!" then "Hold on, why is he over there, anyway?" We should be so lucky that they should show our pratfalls on the Championship, anyway. Deppo Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 There are a lot of better teams than us with dodgy keepers at the mo. There is no way he will start for us next season, but we can't begrudge his inevitable departure. He has also taken a lot of stick from some of our fans in the past but has been a good professional, especially when dealing with the recent upheaval/debacle/fiasco. saintchris23 Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 Unfortunately he's already agreed to join Leicester. A great shame as he's been awesome this season. But lets face it ladies and gents, last season you would have paid for his taxi/limo/helicopter out of St. Marys to anywhere that wasn't owned by SFC. How quickly people change their minds...... But lets face it ladies and gents, last season you would have paid for his taxi/limo/helicopter out of St. Marys to anywhere that wasn't owned by SFC. How quickly people change their minds...... Speak for yourself mate, I've said since he came here what a good keeper he is, unfortunately his confidence was shot to pieces and that wasn't helped by certain sections of the crowd deciding he was the worst keeper we'd ever had. I for one will be very sorry if he goes, however I think its inevitable. Cheers Kelvin, all the best mate!

Bailey Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 The guy has been superb for us this season. Would love him to stay but it's unlikely. He'll have a number of decent offers to consider and you can't blame him for leaving if he does. He's been a credit to Southampton FC and one of the few positives to take from this season. I wish him all the best in the future, be that at Saints or elsewhere. Thanks Kelvin!

I saw your banner yesterday mate, you sit a few rows above me, it gave us all a little chuckle, shame you had trouble getting it in. Sauce for the Kelvin rumour......I was told by my mate down the pub (Barleycorn) who heard it from the guy that cuts the chips in the chippie, who was told by one of his OAP's that he gives free chips to when he buys a cod, who heard it from his wife who died a few years ago. In all seriously it came from my bestest mate who works at his sons school. Quite a decent source I'd say.

new_zealand_saint Posted 27 April, 2009 Share Posted 27 April, 2009 I heard a rumour yesterday that to help the club he was playing for no wages (as was Euell). Any truth in this? This is true, It was reported in the national press a few weeks back when the holding company went into administration, also was in one of the programmes, Charlton I think but am not 100% (It's the one with the big Jason Euell interview.) Absolute credit must go to them both, most pro's wouldn't have done anything like that. Really really hope he stays, and I have a good feeling he will. Thank you Kelvin!
