  1. Ah bloody hell I'm going to be in New York during the bloody take over. I can't see me wanting to stay in an internet cafe hitting F5 all day going down well with the missus.
  2. Bloody hell, I'm off the site for 5 hours and miss out entirely on a 6 page thread about the fact we're about to all become Swiss, and then instead it's MLT and actual real news! Of course Matt's backer could be Swiss which would make both stories true. From the number of ITKs on here dropping hints that practically everyone besides the echo (and me) know who's behind Pinnacle I guess it won't be long. Will it?
  3. Thanks for summing up neatly the ridiculous conceited uber fan attitude. 7 goals. From midfield. In a side that struggled all season. Our highest rated midfielder in the Actim Index (which admittedly isn't saying much!). Yeah obviously he's ****.
  4. Tiny wee fella? Irish connections? Pots of cash? We're being takenover by a leprechaun? Sounds about right to be honest. I've been suspecting that the potential bidders were all mythical for a while.
  5. He scored 7 goals last season from midfied. Season before he only scored 4 but sent much of it at left back. 5 goals the season before that. So that's without trying? **** me the guy must be worth 20 million at least!
  6. We achieved our highest finish for a decade and reached a cup final at Saint Marys. I wouldn't call that terrible!
  7. It doesn't - that's why I mention that actually in a struggling side that couldn't buy a goal he scored seven. From midfield. That is more then testiment to the fact that whatever idiots on here think he is a decent footballer, maybe not Premiership standard but about the best we have.
  8. Funny how Surman is rated by football experts round the land and yet despite him being a local lad, Saints supporter, and scoring 7 goals from midfield for us last season for a struggling side, there are some idiots on here who slag him off at every opportunity. Sometimes I think some of our fans deserve not to have a team to support.
  9. Won't we be in the same league as them by then? Provided they let AFC Southampton join of course.
  10. Anyone else read the OS headline "Pick up a piece of Saints History" along with the image of the '76 team and think "that's it we're being wound up and are having a closing down sale - including the contents of the trophy cabinet"
  11. Swansea have probably put two and two together and realised they can pick up Dyer for nothing if we fold so are delaying signing
  12. Why do I get the impression that Swansea will hold off on signing on the dotted line until tomorrow in the hope that the delay forces Saints under and they can pick Dyer up for nothing?
  13. For all people on this board slag off the OS it's been miles better than the sort of cookie cutter sites that other fans endure - and that we will have to endure from Monday RIP http://www.saintfc.co.uk, let us just hope the rest of Saints does not follow.
  14. I'm confident of promotion within 2 seasons... to the Conference South.
  15. Damn it Phil I was feeling all optimistic about the Irish with a lunchtime pint of Guinness inside me and I come back to find this? Good news I can wait for, but the possibility of bad news will have me hitting F5 all afternoon.
  16. Hate to say it but football has actually moved on since then. Okay we might do okay in League 1 without decent training facilities but if we want to move back up the pyramid a facility such as Staplewood is a must.
  17. The Echo thinks 2 Irish businessmen. The question is does the Echo have any more credibility than Hypo? Probably not
  18. Hilary Weston - born in Ireland emigrated to Canada. The Irish and Canadian links rolled into one?
  19. Considering how badly we seem to perform every time the cameras are present that might be a good thing!
  20. I'd take Cowen back - mostly because of a comment on here (or S4E probably) a while back saying that he was partial to attending punk gigs and pogoing with the best of them. Obviously if that's story is untrue he can stay away
  21. He also was most likely only second or third generation Scottish. His family came from the West Midlands.
  22. Oops good point! I shall now go hang my head in shame
  23. If we're talking GS how about GS junior rather than JR? Journey man footballer at best but great genes
  24. What worries me is not that I think that the creditors could do better than whatever pinnacle is offering, but that the creditors think they can. It doesn't actually matter that winding up the company would bring in less than selling to Pinnacle. It only matters that Barclays think it might bring in more.
  25. Reading people on this thread defending the bankers who are killing Southampton while watching a "Britain's Bankers: Still Cashing In" on Channel 4 (which detailed how much bankers are still raking in). Honestly you cannot defend these ****ers.
