There is so much speculation on this site we're bound to be right once in a while. Someone will come up and say "I told you it was going to be Wenger - look at my post on random next manager thread number 87" Myself I confidently predict that [insert name here] manager will be appointed [insert time here]*. * values to be inserted post appointment so I can pretend to be ITK

When the morning skies grow red, and over us their radiance shed Thou, O Lord, appeareth in their light when the alps glow bright with splendor, pray to God, to Him surrender for you feel and understand that He dwelleth in this land.

The intake also includes Oxlade-Chamberlain, must have been a special going on double barrelled footballers.
-
Looking at that list I'm pretty sure we could be the the first club to field someone with the surname 'Holder-Spooner' First time I really wanted a lad to suceed based on nothing more than his name

I think a gesture of support toward Hartson would be a excellent and appropriate gesture. (and since he's mates with WGS perhaps a nice way to welcome our new manager )

There's nothing like a bunch of friendly people repeating the bleeding obvious I finally got a reply to my email to the ticket office email address (sent BEFORE starting this thread btw, I guess they're more than a little busy!). It's not quite what people were confidently predicting so I thought it worth sharing.

Some of our best seasons were with blue away kits - and much bluer ones than this. It's growing on me, the OS photos look so much nicer than the crappy ebay on a hanger job. And surely some one at Umbro is losing a job over this!
-
And is selling loads of Umbro kits. I reckon someone just got a new job and raided the 'rejects' bin.
-
Yikes that's new on me. Not sure itf I like it but at least it's got some yellow. New kit accidently leaked on ebay?
-
Tried that - the call centre is outsourced and doesn't know what's planned at the ground. Do you have an email address I can expect a reply from?

Afternoon, Sorry to start a thread on this but does anyone know whether I'll be able to buy a season ticket at the ticket office on the morning of the Ajax game? I'd rather do it in person than on the phone, but I'm only ever down on match days. Ta

Poll: Would you be happy for Pearson to be our manager?
SaintDonkey replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
I'd take Pearson back - I think he is a good manager. However judged by their records at Saints alone I'd take Wotte back over Pearson. During Pearson's time with Saints he demonstrated no more than Wotte. He kept us up by the skin of our teeth with a much better better side than Wotte was relegated with - and took over in a much better position. Wotte had two hands tied behind his back by Lowe, dwindling crowds and a team full of youth players and cast offs, Pearson had most of a side that had been in the play offs the previous season. Their record on bringing in loans is about the same despite the extra constraints placed on Wotte compared to Pearson. -
I like this new Alpine! He's right, stop being so paranoid folks.

Le Tissier in talks with Saints over a role
SaintDonkey replied to SaintDonkey's topic in The Saints
Ah welll I guess their little trail worked - they've got me glued to SSN alll morning until they repeat the interview. -
Sorry if reported elsewhere but the SSN League 1 ticker thing is reporting that MLT has confirmed he is in talks with the new owners over a role at the club.

Bookies odds on next Southampton manager
SaintDonkey replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Except with horses experts can make an analysis and tip a likely winner. That horse then gets loads of money put on it and becomes a favourite. In the case of a new manager it's complete speculation, the Times mentions that Adams in in the frame (probably basedon nothing more than he's looking for a job) a few punters look at the early odds an think I'l hae a bit of that. The odds go down. Another load of punters see this and think someone knows something they don't they put money on so the odds tumble further. Next thing you know Adams is odds on favourite. -
Bookies odds on next Southampton manager
SaintDonkey replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I wouln't get too excited about the odds on Strachan - here's a reminder of the odds when Burley left. The bookies must have been laughing all the way to the bank. Paul Ince 7/4 Chris Coleman 5/2 Billy Davies 4/1 Dave Jones 7/1 Glenn Hoddle 10/1 Tony Pulis 10/1 Alan Shearer 12/1 Stuart Baxter 12/1 Jason Dodd 16/1 Kevin Blackwell 16/1 Micky Adams 16/1 Gary Johnson 20/1 Graeme Souness 20/1 Sam Allardyce 20/1 Nick Holmes 25/1 Matt Le Tissier 33/1 -
Bloody hell. Not the best manager but I thought he'd be the right choice for a season since he at least knows the players and has been planning for the new season. I hope they've got someone lined up as we can't afford to miss any more of pre-season. I guess it's back to F5ing again until we get a new guy in.

Any chance we could re-instate the first post from the old thread with the squad summary and confirmed ins and outs? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=12878

Damn we're a realistic bunch. Taken over by a billionaire and we're still talking about who's available on a free transfer (which is probably a good thing!)
-
Aww **** yes. I love today! (now technically yesterday)

So who will be renewing/buying a ST?
SaintDonkey replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
My feelings exactly. We came too close to extinction for me to risk having to say "no I never had a season ticket, kept meaning to get one but then Saints ceased to be" -
Bloody hell there are hundredds of DMWSL companies! http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=DMWSL+&meta=

I can't see us spending for promotion this season - but having said that we'll need to spend at least 3 million just to replace the players we've sold.
