  1. Ooops didn't refresh - please delete!
  2. Company for us on -10
  3. Yep that's right - remember it from a couple of seasons back. The pitch was so far away (with the spectators so low down) you really couldn't tell what was going on.
  4. I remain convinced that it's Sven Goran Erikkson backed by his football agent mate. I have aboslutely no evidence for this, but it takes me to my happy place when I imagine it.
  5. If I were a Saints player reading these boards I'd be looking to get out as soon as possible. Drew hasn't had the best season but he's shown that he is a more than capable player and with the right coaching in the right team could do very well. And aside from the performances on the pitch he is a Saints fan and has shown time and again passion for the cause. But people here just want to slag him off, just as they slag off every Southampton player it seems.
  6. A break since 1974? I'd hardly call 35 years a short break I shall be buying a season ticket for the first time whatever happens. This is a time to support the club, not descend into futher petty bickering no matter who is in the boardroom.
  7. Frankly all those supporting the idea of a boycott should just **** off whether Lowe returns or not. Lowe is just one man. Southampton is 124 years of history, tradition and pride. It is part of us the fans. Lowe can drag us down but he cannot kill us, but we can kill ourselves by stupid infantile gestures like this. So please if your love for the club is so little that your hatred for Lowe over comes it just **** off and leave SFC for those who actually care about it.
  8. I consider Lowe to be in part responsible for the situation Southampton are now in, and would protest were he to return to the club as a director. However he has stated that he has become a fan of Southampton through his years as chairman and as a fan I'm happy to accept his presence at games. I also understand why he migh prefer to be sat to watch the game in the Forest directors box rather than sat amongst rest of the Saints fans!
  9. My ex-girlfriend's father is an old friend of one of those guys - when they bought Centrepoint she was always telling people she knew the bloke who owned it. Time to give her a ring 'for old times sake' edit - no good she knows the guy who bought it off them rather than them
  10. Manchester United - 31,901 Nottingham Forest - 26,580 Charlton was £15 a ticket, Palace was kids for a quid and it was well known we had to get as many people as possible in for Burnley or there wouldn't be a club by now. Sadly it seems that actually watching Manchester United was more important than keeping Saints alive. Whatever way you look at it thousand people didn't come back because Lowe had gone. They came back because it was cheap tickets and their last chance to save Southampton.
  11. You rabid fringe make me laugh, Lowe got us relegated and he is to blame for that and sacking Pearson this season. But at least I am open minded enough to realise the guilty men started with Wilde etc mismanaging finances big time over the last two years, and that we were in the **** at the start of the season. It's all on the company accounts if you bother to look at it rather than going on about your hate / love relationship with Lowe. I am glad to see the back of Lowe but realise there are other guilty people who destroyed this great club
  12. I'd like to see Tisdale as manager next season and if we can get proper long term financial backing I think he would come. However I'm worried that from what we've seen of the potential investors we're going to end up with chancers without funds to do more than keep us above water for a season or two at the most.
  13. To be fair the 'month' timescale came from the interviewer. He then just used that timescale in his reply. I'm going to be very very worried if we don't here anything in the next week. What am I saying - I'm already very very worried. Maybe 'very very very very worried'.
  14. Dare I mention the fact that the overdraft appeared during Lowe's time away from the club and that he reduced it by around 2 million quid over the season when he returned? Please note I'm not saying that one of the reasons the overdraft grew wasn't the structures he left behind. There are many sticks to beat Lowe with but this isn't one of them.
  15. I heard a rumour that thousands of fans would come coming flooding back to Saint Mary's once Lowe was gone...
  16. I shelled out for corporate in the Terry Paine for myself and my brother. And while I can understand the feeling as they introduced the other tables (Terry Paine being the corporate's corporate place) it became obvious that only one or two of the nine tables had shelled out for tickets out of their own pockets. The rest were all there on company money, costs to the business admittedy and good on those firms for supporting Saints, but not many of the people there had reached into their own pockets to support the cause. On that basis I think it's perfectly reasonable for Leon to be bucket shaking in the corporates.
  17. I'm just foolishly believing the identities as given on Sky Sports News. Admittedly with their standard level of fact checking it is just as likely to be from Midanbury as Guernsey but I'm just telling you what the nice man on the telly box told me
  18. Having finally seen the piece on Sky Sports (had to doze through the Champion's League first) it seems the entire story is based on a camera capturing the Guernsey pair (and a third man) walking into / out of Saint Mary's. My guess is they've got a camera recording all the comings and goings and a researcher trying to put names to faces and that's the basis for the entire story. Doesn't mean it isn't true of course
  19. Darren Ferguson has made himself by picking up bargain players from the lower leagues. It's incredible what an eye for talent he has, I mena you'd think it would take a vast and sophisticated scouting network to find such a high proportion of affordable gems. And yet Ferguson has managed to find these players with only the resources of Peterborough at his disposal... ... yeah right. If he hasn't had his dad passing on tips from the Man Ure scouts I'll eat my hat.
  20. A recent traveler arrived from Mexico guarding against swine flu perhaps? We're being taken over by Sven Goran Eriksson!
  21. That's the one - Lady Mauro last seen in Palma, Mallorca on March 12. I guess it could be in Southampton by now...
  22. Why would anyone buy Staplewood now? Give it a week and you'll be able to pick it up for half the money after Saints goes under. And on a more serious note when did the sale of any property go through in less than a week?
  23. Fine bunch of fans we are. There's speculation that someone wants to buy one of our players and half the posters on here use it as an opportunity to slag off the player in question (and to get a few digs in at other players as well). Whatever happened to supporting the team?
  24. Back when we were being taken over by Paul Allen didn't someone find some kind of yacht spotters website that listed what mega-yacht had been seen where?
