Matthew Le Tissier Questions and Answers

While Van Basten's goal was good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j1Z-0ZMM5Q I reckon he should take a look at some of his own http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSsdfe4Z69g -
Time to Allow Standing in the Northam
SaintDonkey replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
Great idea - quick let's lobby parliment and get the law changed! We've already ended up having to pay thousands more for policing this season because of troubles with persistant standing. That could work either way admittedly - the heavier police presence takes the pressure off the stewards to enforce the no standing rule, only doing so when directly requested by the policemenm present. Problem is if the police do instruct the stewards to enforce no standing - and some fans get militant over standing again - the club could face a major fine. Just what we don't need right now! -
BWP is no great loss but it's bad news regarding DMcG. Just when he seems to have found his place in the side and atarted to win the fans over this happens. Would you play him after this - assuming he's available? If he can't play who should step in for him tomorrow?

My apologies I note that the last EGM was held on a match day so it seems my criticism of the Trust in that regard has been addressed.

I liked the idea of the Saints Trust - and was a paid up member (I wonder whether they still count me as one of the 838?). However it felt undemocratic for those living outside of Southampton - holding meetings on weekday evenings means only those living locally have a say - and so my membership lapsed. Now the Saints Trust come out and rubbish a proposal from the club that could potentially be more inclusive for fans outside of Hampshire? Sorry that's the last straw for the Saints Trust goes as far as I'm concerned. It may be a PR exercise but for god's sake the Trust should be embracing it not rejecting it. Yes it's not the seat on the board that Illingsworth is demanding but it's a damned site better than nothing. The Saints Trust need to climb down off their high horse and try and work with the club. Now is not the time for petty posturing.

You know with 'quantative easing' I'll take that in Euros please!

I think 90 minutes would kill me. 45 minutes should be fine provided there's an amblulance standing by. One 6'6'' centre back at your service

I so want us to win but Brum are a very good side and when did we last win 4 in a row in the league*? *I think we did including a league cup game in 02-03

Well that's got me wasting money on the Lottery again... 5 million to buy the shares, 50 Million to pay off the debt, provide a fighting fund and install a decent chief exec. I'll just have to struggle by on the remaining 30 million

The players put blind faith in the new training methods.

winning the 4 team mini league relegation lottery

Hopefully we shall emulate them and continue our climb out of trouble. Whereas I have a suspicion that Palace are going to emulate Charlton. -
A quick hypothetical... If JPS is carrying a knock is it better to give him a day off on Saturday to make sure he's fit for Tuesday? After all - on paper Tuesday's is the far more winnable match. Or is it better to try and keep the momentum going with a result tomorow no matter what the cost?

Funny how none of the early posts mention Charlton - their fall has been truly meteoric. -
Out of Euell or Rasiak I'd probably go for Stern John. It's all about the best partner for Saga for me. (so Euell out of the two profered by the original poster)

If there is a protest I hope they drop the anti-Wotte placards this time. They left a bad taste in the mouth before, and made me forgive Wotte's comments about the protesters. I guess there are still people out there who want Wotte out for his association with Lowe no matter whaat he achieves on the pitch, but I hope they have the good sense to concerntrate on what is important - seeing the back of Lowe and supporting the team.

I reckon the bottom 8 will be Plymouth ----------53 Forest -------------52 Saints -------------51 Palace -------------50 Barnsley -----------49 Blackpool ----------45 Norwich -----------44 Charlton -----------38 Based purely on recent form

I still think we'll get beaten at Birmingham though
SaintDonkey replied to Window Cleaner's topic in The Saints
Anyone else going to be casting half an eye at the Birmingham vs Bristol match tonight and hoping for a smattering of injuries and cards for the Brummies? -

We've beaten Brum once this season, no reason why we can't do it again. Like everyone near the top their recent form has been a bit dodgy recently - as is evidenced by the fact I think we can still technically win the league! They're still a tough prospect at home though - I'd be delighted with a draw. I actually think Derby will be a tougher proposition - partly because for the first time since maybe the Doncaster game the fans will all be expecting a win. And we all remember how well that went against Donny! -
Now I've made myself miserable by checking our record at Portman Road. http://www.soccerbase.com/head2.sd?team1id=1372&team2id=2471 I make it that we haven't won there in the league since 1984! Any one know who scored for us then?

I can't see us getting a win - but what the heck I was wrong about Cardiff. Heart says 2-1 to Saints. Head says 2-2 Liver says 2-1 to Ipswich because it can't take another celebration battering like Saturday night.

Wotte seems to be bigging up the role that Wotton played on Saturday - without stepping on the pitch. Is the Wotte / Wotton partnership going to be the saving of Saints?

THey seem to really rate him - "a cracking little player he is...combative with a quality left foot", "best LB we have at the moment", "comfortable and adept going forward ... kept the ball on the floor", "surprisedby how many headers he won being small", "gave us good balance to the team" All nice to hear. I like what I've seen of the lad and would be delighted if he did turn out to be the long term resident of the Saint's left back slot.
