Rupert's still talking.. prepare to be surprised
SaintDonkey replied to Summers's topic in The Saints
Can people just quit with the Lowe hating and unite behind the club? That's as close as we're going to get to him accepting the blame for what's happened at Southampton. And a plea for help to save it. Put aside your feelings for the man personally and accept his words at face value. He doesn't want the club to go under and neither do we. I'd rather he wasn't the person taking that message to the media but I'm glad someone is. -
To get away from the petty infighting and back to the thread topic. By 'next thursday' do you mean tomorrow or a week tomorrow? How many people is it limited to? And is it tickets in advance or on the door?

You've got to hope that at least a couple of these are fan bids - and you've also got to hope that those people get together to combine their investment. I'd hate to think that 2 different fan groups lose out to some body who doesn't give a toss when they could have won if they had combinded their bids.

So yet again we lead on chances - three shots on target to their one - but we don't have any more to show for it than they do. Story of the fecking season -

Sadly they seem to be playing the Stevenage Borough match http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_three_counties_radio/

Saga looked poor on Saturday - BWP looked up for it. Smith played well while he was on - certainly caught the eye. Can't understand why Wotton is playing though.

Poll: Who Do You Hold Most Responsible For Our Situation?
SaintDonkey replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
It's time to stop the blame game. Can we stop creating yet more divisive threads like this and get behind the team? -
Oops good point! Bugger I guess Skacel will have to go there - I have no faith in Molyneaux

OKay to be a bit controversial... ------------ Davis James----JPS----Perry----Mills ------------Surman Thomson-----McGoldrick--Smith -----------Euell ---------------BWP Subs: Forecast, Liptak, Saga, Holmes, Wotton, Schneiderlin I thought Skacel was gash on Saturday. Saga didn't really seem with it either whereas BWP looked more up for the fight. Thomson was caught out of position more times than I can remember but showed he's got something going forwards so stick him on the right wing. Smith impressed me on Saturday (as he did the Villa fan I brought with me who thought he was our best player after he came on) but I can't abide this playing a left footed player on the right wing malarkey. Wotton may add something to the dressing room but he doesn't on the pitch so get Surman back in that holding role.

Why are you talking about Southampton Football club? Surely this is the Southampton Leisure Holdings forum. And as we know Southampton FC are only a small and inconsequential asset of SLH which is primarily a land development, catering and retirement services provider. Don't for gods sake start the rumour that football is the main business of SLH! COYR

breaking sky sports news - independent enquiry into accounts

I wonder whether Mr Doncaster has excluded himself from the deliberations as an 'interested party'? I'm supposing as a solicitor he's savvy enough to have done so but if not I guess it would be grounds for appeal against any decision against us. Say we somehow escape the relegation places at Norwich's expense, but then the Football League board including the Norwich Chairman slap us with a ten point penalty? We could be in limbo for months sorting that out! -

You know you're right. I suggest we immediately disown Alan Ball, Mick Channon, Ron Davies and Bobby Stokes for their Portsmouth connections! -
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4273401.Saints_made_to_sweat_by_the_Football_League/ No news is bad news?

I thought we were down after Doncaster - we were so bad I really couldn't see any hope. And then that damned Wotte went and gave us all hope again! While it's still possible I still have hope - but I have to admit there won't be much.

-10 points this season. -15 points next season. All becomes academic as Saints are wound up. AFC Southampton (ground sharing with Eastleigh) begin life in the Wessex league with a 25 point deduction. Expect the worst and then you'll always be pleasantly surprised.

Jeff comes in about 1:05 in... A news item he's back at 1:13... A bit of travel then back at 1:20... Starts talking about Saints around 1:29

Derry can I just be clear on this - and I guess this is a question that needs a wider remit than me clarifying this through a PM. Are you (or rather is Mark Fry) saying that we should ignore the current plea for funds and hang on to our money for the moment as we're existing as some kind of plan B? I don't have much to offer in the grand scheme of things but collectively we have a voice provided we all speak at the same time. If you can tell me when that time is then PM me.

Took a couple of mates and their better halves to their first match at Saint Mary's. After the match we stopped in Yates for a quick pint before heading to the station and had the misfortune to emerge just as the Charlton fans and their escort passed. A bunch of Saints yoof were acting like complete tossers and we were trapped between them and the police. We were forced to shelter in a doorway with an elderly couple who were also in the wrong place at the wrong time while the idiots threw things at the poice. As the police baton charged I was politely informed that perhaps I would be attending the last couple of matchs this season alone. These scum need life bans now.

I know that the head of design for the Virgin Atlantic brand comes from Southampton (Joe Ferry - grew up in Midanbury). He's very much got Branson's ear, anyone on here know him?

Is it better for the club to open season ticket sales sooner so that it can have the cash injection now, or is it better for them so hold off until after a rescue package when the debt has been restructured in some way (or indeed written off)? Like most fans I want to do what I can to help the club - and that will include buying a season ticket for next season even though I won't be able to go to many games. However I don't want any money that I or any one else puts into the club to just be hoovered up by Barclays.

I share the misgivings of others who have waivered over the sense of ordinary working people putting their life savings forward to pay one weeks wages of some over paid premadonna, and the doubts over whether a fan based cooperative structure is viable going forwards. But if it's a choice between Southampton ceasing to be and me digging deep then dig I must. Put me down for £2500.

David Jones really is Mr Teflon shoulders isn't he! Is this the third boardroom cull he's survived?
